Content available A Tiny 2.4 GHz Monopole Water Antenna

We designed, fabricated, and evaluated a monopole water antenna (WA) filled with pure water. A 2.4 GHz patch antenna (PA) was used for measurement comparison, and the current density distribution and 3D field strength radiation distribution and reflection coefficient of the PA had a fundamental mode and a higher-order mode at 3.5 GHz, whose polarization was 90 degrees different. The 2.4 GHz monopole WA could receive only the fundamental mode of the PA. The 3.5 GHz WA could receive the higher-order mode of the PA by rotating the WA by 90 degrees. The transmission coefficient of the 2.4 GHz WA decreased with the square of the spacing, similar to the spatial propagation characteristics of electromagnetic waves. Almost the same results could be expected if planar or three-dimensional antennas were used instead of monopole electrodes.

The design of a coplanar waveguide-fed (CPW-fed) broadband circularly polarized printed monopole antenna is proposed. The antenna consists of a simple rectangular radiator monopole, an inverted L-shaped strip, a horizontal stub, and a modified asymmetric ground plane. Simulation results indicate that the impedance bandwidth (IBW) is 121% (1.575–6.4 GHz), and the axial ratio bandwidth (ARBW) is 64.3% (2.85– 5.55 GHz). A parametric study is performed for verification. Results indicate that the proposed antenna is suitable for different wireless communications systems.

Zaprezentowano projekt szerokopasmowej cyrkularnej jednobiegunowej anteny. Antena składa się z z prostokątnego radiatora, paska o odwróconym kształcie L I asymetrycznej płaszczyzny uziemionej. Symulacje wykazały dobrą pracę w paśmie 2.85 – 5.55 GHz. Wyniki symmulacji porównano z wynikami badania modelu.

This paper presents , a novel design of semi-circular patch antenna for Ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless communication systems. The monopole is compact with structure size of 25x25 mm2 and thickness of 1.6 mm. It has been fabricated on a FR-4 substrate with relative permittivity of Ɛr=4.4. The designed antenna has an ultrawide bandwidth, from 3GHz to 11.5 GHz based on -10dB criteria, which covers the entire UWB allocated by FCC for such applications. Also, the design shows high performance in terms of impedance match between feeding line and radiator. Radiation pattern results have been studied at all resonant frequencies (3 GHz to 11.5 GHz) and they have almost omni directional pattern. The monopole has been fabricated and experimentally measured for verification and both simulation and experimental results show good agreement. The overall antenna gain is 1.8 dBi with bandwidth of 125% for UWB. Therefore, the simulated and measured results confirm that the antenna satisfies the requirements for ultra-wideband applications. Design, simulation, and optimization process have been completed using industrial simulation software called High Frequency Structural Simulator (HFSS).

W artykule opisano projekt półokrągłej anteny szerokopasmowej do systemów WiFi. Antena ma powierzchnię 25x25 mm i grubość 1.6 mm. Psamo częstotliwościowe antent jest od 3 GHz do 11.5 GHz. Symulacje I pomiary potwierdziły przydatność tej antny do pasma UWB.

This paper presents a printed dual band monopole antenna working below 250 MHz using meander line and an added stub. Meander line approach is used to reduce the size of the low frequency monopole. The proposed antenna is fed by microstrip line and printed on FR-4 substrate with an overall size of 290 x 83 mm2. The added stub tuned dual band operation at 114 MHz and 221 MHz with measured reflection coefficient of -19 dB at both bands. The antenna has omni-directional characteristics with efficiency greater than 90% and gain of 1.87, 1.7 dBi at both bands respectively. The antenna design is optimized through a detailed parametric study. This study includes varying stub, Meander, feed and ground dimensions. The antenna has been fabricated and measured where dual band operation in the MHz range is verified.

Dla przykładu zaprezentowano wzorcowanie anteny pasywnej firmy EMCO dwoma metodami i oszacowano niepewności wzorcowania anteny tymi metodami.

The paper concerns calibration methods of the measuring rod antennas: passive and active (with amplifier), designed for the frequency range from 10 kHz to 30 MHz. powered in relation to the flat square or rectangular metal plate. The paper presents, as the example, calibration results and appropriate uncertainty of the passive antenna (EMCO) received with the help of both described methods.

Planar monopole antennas are extensively used in many wireless communication applications due to their compact size, low weight and ease of integration with active devices. Many antennas with different band characteristics have been designed such as dual, multi, wide and ultra wide band. In this paper simple monopole antenna is proposed for Ultra wide band applications. The antenna is analysed for bandwidth increment with addition of linear multiple steps, mathematical model is also proposed. Simulation results show that the proposed design can be used for UWB applications with reasonable accuracy. Prototype of proposed design with measured results are also presented. Reasonable agreement is found between the simulated and measured results. Details of the proposed antenna design, simulated and measured results are presented and discussed.

W artykule opisano prostą antenę mono-polarną w zastosowaniu do ultra-szerokich pasm przepustowych. Przedstawiono model matematyczny i analizę wzrostu przepustowości pod wpływem liniowych stopni mnożących. Wyniki badań symulacyjnych zostały zweryfikowane poprzez porównanie z pomiarami rzeczywistymi.

In this paper, a CPW-fed monopole antenna for ultra wideband (UWB) applications using band-notch characteristics with size of (24×24×1.6 mm³ ) is presented. The antenna is designed for operation across the entire UWB from 3.1 to 10.6 GHz with band-notch in 5-6 GHz, by inserting an H-shaped slot on the CPW staircase feed line. The proposed antenna has a reflection coefficient below -10 dB through the frequency band. Also, reasonable gain values and good radiation pattern over the same frequency band have been observed. Details of the proposed antenna and experimental results are discussed and parametric study is presented.

The novel coaxial monopole antenna design with an additional metal screen is presented. The radiation char- acteristics of this antenna are investigated depending on a dis- tance between the ground plane and additional metal screens, as well as on a size of the latter. Measured and calculated ra- diation patterns are compared within limits of the operative frequency band and their revealed distinctions are discussed. The antennas characteristics allow pronounce that it can be considered as a promising candidate for various practical ap- plications both a single radiator and a composite element of antenna arrays.
