The paper presents the way of introducing a modifier in the form of superabsorbent directly to the zone were polymer fibers were being produced in the melt-blowing process. Variants of non-woven polypropylene with different quantative fraction of the superabsorbents were developed. They were subjected to tests for the penetration against of the sodium chloride particles, the air flow resistance and water sorption capacity. A filtering material of high filtration efficiency in time and good water sorption capacity was obtained.
