The paper presents a software package for thermal computations of synchronous generators. The programs included in this package are applied when working out modernisation projects of synchronous generators for ,,ENERGOSERWIS" S.A. They enable carrying out thermal computations of the main construction elements of generators. They were used for working out quite a few modernisation projects of synchronous generators of 30 MW up to 500 MW aiming at increase in the rated power, replacement of the cooling medium (e.g. hydrogen by air), increase in the life and improvement of the weakest construction nodes. The use of the developed computer programs is illustrated by the example of a TGH-120 generator modernisation aiming at increase in its rated power up to 130 MW. Also the implementation of the TGH-120 generator modernisation to the manufacturing process in ,,ENERGOSERWIS" S.A. is presented in the paper. The measurement results are compared with the computation results.

W oparciu o najnowszą wiedzę i rozwiązania konstrukcyjne ALSTORM opracował program pozwalający na przeprowadzenie całkowitej modernizacji generatora 200MW. Wynikiem końcowym jest wydłużenie okresu ekploatacji o dodatkowe 20-30 lat, możliwość wykorzystania maszyn pracujących przy obciążeniu podstawowym do pracy przy obciążeniu szczytowy, zwiększenie niezawodność generatorów i wyposażenia pomocniczego przy jednoczesnym zmniejszeniu kosztów utrzymania i serwisu oraz podniesienie mocy wyjściowej do 230 MW. Liczne modernizacje wykonane w ostatnich latachsą dowodem na korzyści osiągane dzięki nowym rozwiązaniom. Ninejszy artykuł przedstawia rozwiązania ALSTORM w zakresie modernizacji generatorów 200MW konstrukcji Dolmelu i Elektrosiły.

On the basis of the newest expertise and structural solutions, ALSTOM Ltd. has worked out a program, enabling to carry out a complete modernization of 200 MW oscillators. Achievements of such a process are: extension of service life (up to additional 20,30 years), a possibility of such increase of base load so as to reach a peak load of working machines, improvement of oscillators and auxiliary equipment reliability with a simultaneously reduction of maintenance and service costs, and finally power stretch up to 230 MW. Numerous modernizations carried out during the last two years constitute a proof of advantages taken of the new solutions. This paper presents solutions applied by ALSTORM in the field of modernization of oscillators, constructed by Dolmel and Elektrosiła.
