E-learning, or distance learning is increasingly used in the process of higher education. The article presents an analysis of the potential benefits and weaknesses resulting from the implementation of such a model of education for cadets of the Military University of Technology.

The rapid development of information technology and telecommunications has radically changed the two most important social processes: access to information and communication, allowing the globalization of the economy, culture, education and other areas of society. Priority, undoubtedly, is education, which determines the pace of development in particular countries and the quality of life of individuals. Hypertext and episodic flow of information dramatically changes the way we think and learn. Today, the human cognitive process can no longer be based on the linear structure because shaping knowledge is based on the conscious use of information fragments and episodes that reach the contemporary man in a continuous and often unintentional way. In such conditions, methods and forms of education used for centuries are no longer effective, especially for digital natives who build their intellectual capital.

Modern education opens up broad prospects for the use of the Internet and its applications. Global computer network helps us to cross all limits allowed for the development and transfer of knowledge and to stimulate and create personal skills. Time and distance are no longer an obstacle. Recently, it has also been popularized in the use of online tools for professional work and intellectual and to the education at all levels of education. In this way, teachers are able to adapt teaching tools to the students’ individual needs. Moreover, the aspects of graphical visualization can be more efficient and interesting for students from previously used resources. This paper presents various methods of the Internet in education, and in particular the use of software to solve advanced problems in the art, for example, to calculate transient states. These tools are not only used for training skills or to solve specific tasks but also to shape attitudes and social behavior.

Na progu XXI wieku kończy się w edukacji era nauczania werbalnego na korzyść kształcenia multimedialnego. Współczesna dydaktyka systematycznie ewoluuje w kierunku nowoczesnej technologii kształcenia, której jądrem stają się nowoczesne, multimedialne techniki nauczania. Kształcenie multimedialne ze względu na możliwośći jednoczesnego oddziaływania na różne zmysły, jest nauczaniem-uczeniem się w którym uruchamia się wiele torów przesyłania informacji. Stosowanie interdyscyplinarnego podejścia i wykorzystanie w procesie nauczania-uczenia się nowoczesnych środków i urządzeń technicznych, nie tylko ułatwia realizację procesu dydaktycznego, ale także przygotowuje uczących się do samodzielnego zdobywania wiedzy wykorzystując również możliwośći upowszechniających się form masowego przekazu informacji. Wyzwania cywilizacyjne mają uzasadniony wpływ na przemiany filozofii edukacyjnej, zwłaszcza dydaktyki, a w jej ramach kształcenia multimedialnego, które ma za zadanie nie tylko usprawnienie procesu komunikowania się nauczyciela z uczniami ale także spełnienie szeroko rozumianych oczekiwań społecznych

On the threshold of the twenty-first century ends era in education for the benefit of verbal learning multimedia learning. Contemporary teaching systematically evolves towards modern technology, education, the nucleus becomes a modern, multimedia teaching techniques. Multimedia education because of the possibility of simultaneous impact on the various senses, is the teaching-learning in which a lot of track starts sending information. Using an interdisciplinary approach and use in the teaching-learning resources and modern technical equipment, not only facilitates the educational process, but also prepares learners for self-learning using the possibility to disseminate the forms of mass media information.
