Purpose: The objective of the study is to examine whether a wood processing company size affects the differentiation of workplace safety hazards as well as to investigate the influence of features characterizing an occupational accident casualty on their injury severity, considering the company size. Methodology: The study used non-aggregated data obtained from the Central Statistical Office, Poland. The data for analyzes were prepared through quality diagnosis, cleaning and transformation. Variables of no informative value were excluded from further investigation. Statistical tests were performed implicating the need for independent analyzes for two data subsets referring to: micro and small enterprises (employing up to 49 persons), and medium and large enterprises (employing 50 persons or more). For each of the two company groups, a logistic model was developed classifying the occupational accident casualty injury severity based on the casualty characteristics. In each case, the classification quality was assessed using a test data set. Findings: It was shown that the enterprise size had an impact on the severity of accidents at work and that the proposed method of classifying enterprises by size into two categories was justified. Explanatory variables in logistic models were interpreted according to their importance and intensity of influence on the explained variable. Practical implications: The obtained results can be used in the development of materials on occupational safety risks for entrepreneurs and OSH services. Social implications: Each type of economic activity carries various risks. Occupational accidents pose a serious social and economic problem. Research in the field of occupational safety allows a better understanding of the nature of such accidents and makes it possible to take effective preventive actions which, however, can depend on a company size. Originality/value: On the basis of the obtained results, it is possible to identify the factors influencing the severity of occupational accidents in wood processing companies according to their size. The research also showed that bivariate multiple logistic regression is an appropriate tool for analyzing occupational accident data.

Artykuł przedstawia propozycję zastosowania analizy wielokryterialnej do oceny trzech modeli systemu logistycznego zaopatrzenia przy realizacji przedsięwzięcia budowlanego. W pierwszym modelu obsługę logistyczną zapewnia centrum logistyczne, utworzone na potrzeby danej inwestycji. W drugim modelu system logistyczny zarządzany jest przez generalnego wykonawcę przedsięwzięcia, zaopatrującego swoich podwykonawców. Trzeci model przewiduje zaopatrzenie indywidualne – podwykonawcy zaopatrują się w dany materiał za pomocą własnych służb logistycznych.

The paper presents the proposal of use a multi attribute decision making method to evaluate three models of the logistics system of supply during the implementation of a construction project. In the first model, logistics service is provided by logistics center, created for the project needs. In the second model, logistics system is managed by the general contractor of the project, supplying his subcontractors. The third model provides for individual supply – subcontractors and general contractor procure the material using their own logistics services.

There is a lot of progress in investigating capabilities of various monitoring systems that observe moving objects and learn patterns of activities from these observations. Our goal is to improve the active observation of moving objects by using mobile platforms. As a result the logistics solutions for delivery of products can incorporate new models describing more efficient autonomous robots navigation and interactions in dynamic environments. We use humanoid robot as a case study for the experimentation with robot-robot and human-robot interactions.

Dokonuje się znaczący progres w rozwoju różnorodnych systemów śledzących (monitorujących) obserwujących poruszające się obiekty i uczących się wzorców aktywności w oparciu o te obserwacje. Celem niniejszej pracy jest poprawa możliwości śledzących poprzez zastosowanie mobilnej platformy. W rezultacie rozwiązania logistyczne dostarczania produktów można poszerzyć o modele bardziej efektywnie opisujące nawigację oraz interakcje robotów autonomicznych w warunkach dynamicznych. Jako studium przypadku rozpatrzono robot humanoid w zastosowaniu do eksperymentalnej interakcji typu robot-robot oraz człowiek-robot.

Reverse logistics understood as the process of managing reverse flow of materials, in-process inventory, finished goods and related information has become one of the logisticians' key areas of interest. Nowadays a growing number of companies realize the meaning of that field of logistics. Reuse of products can bring direct advantages because company uses recovered components instead of expensive new ones. On the base of literature overview the aims of the paper were established. It proposes the model that uses the reliability theory to optimize recovery policy parameters. The criterion of the policy parameters optimization is the total cost of the production, recovery and services during warranty period. Presented model is a development of existing approaches because it widely analyses the aspect of returns condition in the recovery policy optimization.

Until recently logistics systems supported only processes carried out in classical material flow from producer to final user. Recently it has been a remarkable growth of interest in optimizing logistics processes that supports recapturing value from used goods. The process of planning, implementing, and controlling the efficient, cost effective flow of raw materials, in-process inventory, finished goods and related information from the point of consumption to the point of origin for the purpose of recapturing value or proper disposal is called reverse logistics. Reuse of product parts can bring direct advantages to the company because it reduces costs associated with acquiring new components. Main goal of this paper is to create the reverse logistics inventory model that uses the reliability theory to describe re-usability of product parts with assumption that recovered components are used in a production process but they aren't as good as new ones. The model allows to estimate the potential profits of the reusing policy in production and inven-tory management. It gives the base to optimize some of the process parameters: the threshold work time of returns, the warranty period for products containing reused elements or new components order size.

W pracy dokonano analizy wpływu parametrów geometrycznych drogi i cech jej otoczenia na bezpieczeństwo ruchu drogowego. Przedmiotem badań są rzeczywiste dane o wypadkach drogowych między pojazdami bez udziału pieszych, zarejestrowane na obszarach zamiejskich wybranego obszaru Polski. Badano wykorzystanie regresji logistycznej w dwóch postaciach: modelu proporcjonalnych szans i modeli logitów sekwencyjnych. Ciężkość wypadku reprezentuje zagrożenie na drodze. Jest to uporządkowana zmienna odpowiedzi poddana zadaniu klasyfikacji. Wyniki modelowania wskazują, że następujące cechy mają statystycznie istotny wpływ na ciężkość wypadku: rodzaj poboczy po obu stronach drogi, rodzaj obszaru, chodniki, obecność lub brak skrzyżowania.

The influence of some road geometrical parameters and characteristics of road vicinity on traffic safety has been identified and measured in the work. The real data of multivehicle accidents without pedestrians on non-urban roads for a chosen region of Poland is the object of the research. Logistic regression in the form of proportional odds ratio model and continuation ratio logits models have been investigated in the analysis. The threat on the road is represented by the accident severity, which is an ordered response variable subject to the classification task. The modeling results indicate that the following features have statistically significant influence on the accident severity: type of shoulders on both sides of a roadway, area type, pedestrian sidewalks, presence or absence of intersection.
