Security analysis for authentication and authorisation in mobile phone

In this paper we discuss some authentication and authorisation systems where mobile phone is a main or an important component to improve security. Some of the presented solutions are available for SCADA software. Based on our analysis we list and compare safety measures and threats in mobile phone's technologies. We also briefly analyse the security models of the most popular solutions. Results of our analysis point out that the application generating one-time passwords is both secure and convenient for the users.

Artykuł zawiera analizę bezpieczeństwa wykorzystania telefonu komórkowego jako istotnego elementu procesu uwierzytelniania użytkownika w systemach teleinformatycznych (np. systemach SCADA). Analiza bezpieczeństwa obejmuje zarówno same metody uwierzytelniania jak i wykorzystanie telefonów komórkowych oraz sieci komórkowej w procesie uwierzytelniania. W podsumowaniu analizy bezpieczeństwa wskazujemy aplikację do generowania haseł jednorazowych jako rozwiązanie zarówno przyjazne dla użytkownika jak i bezpieczne.

Artykuł ten jest poświęcony monitoringowi oraz zdalnemu sterowaniu instalacjami inteligentnymi KNX TP za pośrednictwem telefonu komórkowego. Omówione zostały w nim zagadnienia związane z ogólną i logiczną strukturą systemu sterowania oraz budową aplikacji informatycznej, pozwalającej na realizację wymienionych zadań za pomocą telefonu komórkowego. Przedstawione zostały praktyczne aspekty budowy aplikacji informatycznej oraz przykład jej wdrożenia w warunkach laboratoryjnych. Scharakteryzowano potrzebne urządzenia oraz składniki oprogramowania.

The article concerns monitoring and remote control of intelligent installation KNX TP via mobile phone. Issues connected with generic and logical structure of the control system and with creation of a software application, which enables realisation of the mentioned tasks by means of mobile phone, have been discussed. Practical aspects concerning creation of the software application and example of its implementation in laboratory conditions have been presented. Needed devices and software components have been characterised.

Dokonano przeglądu tematyki badawczej prowadzonej w dziedzinie radiokomunikacji ruchomej pod auspicjami Unii Europejskiej. Omówiono główne kierunki badań realizowanych aktualnie w ramach Piątego Programu Ramowego. Przedstawiono główne cele i zamierzenia Szóstego Programu Ramowego, jego podstawowe instrumenty oraz propozycje projektów badawczych. Podano przykłady tematyki kilku proponowanych projektów badawczych. Zwrócono uwagę na możliwą rolę partnerów z Polski, w szczególności zespołów badawczych szkół wyższych oraz zespołów badawczo-rozwojowych przedsiębiorstw telekomunikacyjnych.

In the paper overview of scientific activities currently performed in the area of mobile and wireless communications under auspices of European Union is presented. The main directions of research within the Fifth Framework Programme is described. The main objectives of the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) within the wireless and mobile communications and the basic research instruments are also considered. Examples of the proposed projects are given. A potential role of Polish technical universities and R&D centers in the realization of research activities is also considered.

This paper addresses the problem of fixed channel assignment in cellular communication systems with nonuniform traffic distribution. The objective of the channel assignment is to minimise the average blocking probability. Methods for finding a good allocation can be based on first building a number of sets of cochannel cells or allocation patterns and then assigning them to channels. This usually implies that only a subset of the feasible region is attainable. The approach suggested in this paper uses the concept of packed pattern, since all patterns in an optimal solution will be of that kind. With a constructive method, the entire set of packed patterns is built and used in the optimisation process. The complexity (large-scale and nonlinearity) of the resulting problem suggested the use of general search procedures (local search, tabu search, simulated annealing, etc.), which have the further advantage of flexibility when dealing with extensions to the problem. A neighbouring structure was used, that facilitated the calculations while still allowing for the search in the entire solution space. A summary of extensive numerical experiments is presented. The outcome is an improvement over previous results.
