The article discusses the disinfection problem in terms of combating the SARS-CV-2 virus that causes an infectious disease called COVID-19. In the epidemic era the focus was on reviewing the methods and means of disinfecting everyday items that are currently used. The concept and design of a solution for disinfection of outerwear of employees moving along the main communication routes in mining plants, developed by KOMAG in cooperation with Elektron s.c and Budryk mine belonging to JSW S.A., is presented. The structure and principle of operation of the device are presented together with the selected disinfectant based on silver colloid. The first stages of creating a prototype solution are discussed, as well as the effects of implementing the developed universal UMID disinfecting installation for decontamination of viruses, bacteria and fungi. Additionally, a demonstration disinfecting installation built for the needs of KOMAG employees is presented.

W artykule omówiono istniejące rodzaje pyłów, których powstawanie towarzyszy działalności górniczej, zwłaszcza przy urabianiu mechanicznym skał. płuc. Przedstawiono różne sposoby zwalczania zapylenia w górnictwie polskim, w tym omówiono zasadnicze typy stosowanych odpylaczy mokrych i suchych oraz przeprowadzono analizę ich skuteczności w odniesieniu do obowiązujących wartości granicznych (NDS) w aspekcie bezpieczeństwa pracy.

In this article various types of dust created by mining activities have been discussed. Especially the dust which is formed during mechanical rock-cutting. Classification of particular kinds of dust considering its particle size, silicose content as well as inhalation level has been discussed and effect on the pneumoconiosis. Different ways of polish mining dust suppression have been presented and their efficiency regarding maximum allowed concentration (MAC) have been analyzed in the work security aspect.

Content available remote Results of cooling of dies with water mist

Purpose: Intensification of die casting of car silumins wheels with use of the water mist instead of compressed air dies cooling in low pressure casting process were presented in the paper. Design/methodology/approach: Examinations of casting process parameters were carried out on the industrial workstation of casting car wheels under the low pressure and also with Magma computer simulating system. Findings: The temperature and the range of its variation were presented in characteristic points of the casting and the cooled die with use the compressed air and with the water mist. A scheme of the device for generating the water mist cooling the die and also the pictures of simulation of wheels casting process for researched cooling methods was given. Research limitations/implications: The manufacturing technologies with the permanent mould. Practical implications: Using the water mist to cooling of dies in die casting and low pressure casting process to intensify of cooling the die and to reduce the amount of casting spoilage. Originality/value: Using the water mist to cooling increases intensity of cooling of the die and the cast. It makes shorter the cycle of casting process as well as reduces the porosity of casts and increases mechanical properties: RP0,2, Rm, A5 and HB.

At work were presented the research findings of the water mist’s generating process and low pressure casting of car silumin wheels with applying the die’s cooling with water mist and compressed air. Research findings were shown the effectiveness of spraying water with use of designed sprayers and effects of generating the water mist in the stream compressed air. Relations enabling the optimisation of parameters of the water mist were worked out to needs of cooling the die. A designed device for generating the water mist cooling the die was shown here. Research findings of speed of the temperature in characteristic points of the cast and cooled die with use of the water mist in comparing to cooling with the air were presented in the paper. They demonstrated, that applying the water mist increases the intensity of cooling the die and the cast, it makes shorter the cycle of die casting, it reduces the defectiveness of casts as well as it increases their properties: Rp0,2, Rm, A5 and HB.

W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań procesu wytwarzania mgły wodnej oraz odlewania pod niskim ciśnieniem silumi- nowych kół samochodowych z zastosowaniem chłodzenia kokili mgłą wodną i sprężonym powietrzem. Pokazano wyniki badań efektywności rozpylania wody za pomocą zaprojektowanych rozpylaczy oraz efekty wytwarzania mgły wodnej w strumieniu sprężonego powietrza. Opracowano zależności umożliwiające optymalizację parametrów mgły wodnej do potrzeb chłodzenia kokili. Pokazano zaprojektowane urządzenie do wytwarzania mgły wodnej chłodzącej kokilę. Przedstawiono wyniki badań szybkości zmian temperatury w charakterystycznych punktach odlewu i kokili chłodzonej za pomocą mgły wodnej w porównaniu do chłodzenia powietrzem. Wykazano, że zastosowanie mgły wodnej zwiększając inten- sywność chłodzenia kokili i odlewu, skraca cykl odlewania, zmniejsza wadliwość odlewów oraz podwyższa ich własności: Rp0,2, Rm, A5 i HB.
