The paper deals with reducing vibrations transmitted from electric golf cart wheels to the seat and the seated person. These vibrations appear while driving a golf cart on uneven terrain of a golf course. This problem can be solved by using the elastic and damping link between the cart frame and seat, which is tightly connected to the electric power battery. A mathematical calculation is used to evaluate the designed solution in which the golf cart is defined as a system of masses connected with elastic and damping links. The result of the designed solution’s mathematical description provides a reference step response of the golf cart seat.

W artykule opisano źródła drgań mechanicznych i hałasu, ich wpływ na organizm człowieka, maszyny i konstrukcje oraz sposoby obniżenia poziomu tych drgań i dźwięku hałasu. Przedstawiono także metody obliczeń obciążeń dynamicznych wywoływanych przez maszyny wibracyjne i oddziaływujących na konstrukcje wsporcze i fundamenty oraz sposoby ograniczenia tego oddziaływania poprzez, zastosowanie wibroizolacji. Podano obliczenia i metody doboru takich elementów wibroizolacyjnych, jak sprężyny, podkładki gumowe i aktywne poduszki pneumatyczne.

The article describes the sources of mechanical vibration and noise, their effect on the human body, machines and structures, and methods of minimization of the vibration and noise. Also presented are the methods of calculation of dynamic loads induced by the vibrating machines and affecting the support structures and foundations, as well as the ways of minimizing their influence by vibration isolation. Calculations and methods of selection of such vibration-isolation elements like springs, rubber pads and active pneumatic cushions, are also included.
