W artykule przedstawiono informacje dotyczące praktyki eksploatacyjnej miniaturowych łożysk tocznych. Zebrano najczęściej spotykane wymagania dotyczące działania tych łożysk. Zaprezentowanono szereg czynników wpływających na moment tarcia w ruchu oraz na trwałość zmęczeniową, zwracając szczególną uwagę na czynniki niedoceniane, bo mało istotne w pracy łożysk tocznych powszechnego użytku, takie jak rodzaj koszyka, rodzaj ewentualnego uszczelnienia, współczynnik przylegania, dokładność wykonania łożyska, dokładność wykonania wałka i oprawy, ridzaj i ilość środka smarowego.

In the present article there are shown some problems connected with operation of miniature ball bearings in measuring instruments. In this using the two main requirements must be fulfilled by the bearing: a small frictional moment and suitable rating life. In some instruments, e.g. flow meter, the suitable indication strongly depends on magnitude of torque. The torque depends on following factors: sort of material, seal, bearing size, accuracy, internal clearance, imperfection of shaft and housing, load, rotational speed, sort and quantity of lubricant. It was shown, that the bearing for measuring instruments should have the following features: The balls and rings in stainless steel; ribbon retainer in pressed steel (may be with Teflon-coating); the baring without seals, only with shields if it is necessary; the bearing size as small as possible; good accuracy grade; large internal clearance (C3-C4); there shouldn't be close fit neither on shaft nor in housing; very important is the coaxiality of both of bearing in the arrangement; if the strong axial force is acting, the greater osculation rating of ball and race is profitable to decrease the equivalent load; as a lubricant should be used the small viscosity oil (ca 10cSt/20°C) and in a very small quantity. The high osculation rating is also profitable with regard to the bearing durability. In some conditions (very great axial force) there may be used unorthodox bearing arrangement: one angular contact bearing and the deep groove bearing as the second. Generally: the correct mounting and the strict cleanliness is an essential condition for the good performance of all miniature bearings.
