Content available Practical aspects of the use of milking robots
EN
The article presents results of monitoring carried out in barns with milking robots. The use of milking robots makes it possible, with proper stocking, to milk cows without human intervention. The analysis included all barns with Lely robots located in the Podlaskie Voivodeship in 2018-2021. In 2018-2019, there were seven such barns, and in 2020-2021 nine. In all barns, high milk yields were obtained of more than 1000 kg compared to the average milk yield obtained from stock of cows under monitoring in the Podlaskie Voivodeship. In 2021, four barns milked more than 9.5 thous. kg, three barns more than 10 thous. kg and two barns almost 12 thous. kg of milk. Fat and protein contents were typical for the breed. Three barns were monitored more closely in 2021, with varying numbers of robot milking stations in barns, i.e. A one, B two and C three milking stations. In 2021, over 700,000 kg was milked per stall in stall A, over 750,000 kg in B and over 850,000 kg of milk in C. The average milk per cow per milking was high, with over 11 kg in barn A, 12 kg in B and 13 kg in C.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of environmental housing conditions on the milk yield of dairy cows. Measurements were taken in the summer period from June to September, 2020 and in the winter period during January, 2021 on a large-capacity farm of Holstein Friesian cattle. Cows were housed in free stall barn with the lying boxes and selected during the second or third lactations, in the summer period from the 51st day to the 135th day and in the winter period from the 64th day to the 120th day of lactation. The average temperature in the housing was 23°C in summer, and 7.05°C in winter. The average THI (thermal humidity index) value in summer was 70.43, but during the day the THI values sometimes reached 75. The dairy cows were therefore exposed to heat stress during summer. Increasing THI and temperature values negatively affected the milk yield, as there was a negative correlation between both THI and milk yield (r = −0.641; p < 0.01) and temperature and milk yield (r = −0.637; p < 0.01). Milk production in winter was at 58.77 kg per day and in summer at 49.55 kg per day. In the summer, the milk had a significantly lower content of fat (p < 0.05), proteins (p < 0.001), lactose (p < 0.001), minerals (p < 0.001) and conversely, a higher number of somatic cells (p < 0.01). These results show that worse environmental conditions during the summer negatively affected the level of milk yield and the composition of the cows’ milk.

Dane do analizy stanowiły wyniki kontroli użytkowości mlecznej, prowadzonej metodą A4.

Production results from seven herds of dairy cows with the use of AMS for at least twelve month in Wielkopolska province have been collected and analyzed. DeLaval and Lely robots were in-stalled in cowsheds with various livestock management systems, different milk production levels and cows age. After the introduction of the AMS in all herds an increase in milk productivity of cows has been observed. It has been shown that without loss of milk yield cows can be milked with the robot use even in tenth of lactation. The use of the AMS is particularly justified in the herds of high milk yield, especially over ten thousand kilograms. It was found that the introduction of the AMSt did not affect the level of fat, protein and the number of somatic cells in the milk.

W grupie A u 34% krów zaobserwowano niedobór energii pobranej w paszy w stosunku do aktualnych potrzeb, natomiast w grupach B i C - nadmiar energii w pobranej paszy, odpowiednio u 62% i 75% krów. Niedobór białka w pobranej paszy wystąpił u 11% krów w grupie A, u 10% krów w grupie B i 24% w grupie C, a nadmiar odpowiednio - u 28, 19 i 22%.

Correctness of feeding dairy cows was analysed in terms of sufficient energy and protein quantities supplied in the diet. As the source data for research, production results over 6 months (since November 2010 till April 2011) for the herd of 250 dairy cows were used. The herd was divided into 3 technological-nutrition groups of cows on the basis of milk yields. Once a month the structure of groups was corrected. The group A, of highest milk yielding cows, was fed with a diet provided for 38 kg milk production. Diet B was provided for group of cows yielding 28 kg milk, whereas for group C - the cows just before drying off - diet for 19 kg milk production. Average milk yields of particular groups in succeeding months of experiment were quite stable. However, the differences in milk yielding within particular groups were considerable and exceeded 20 kg. Shortage of energy in diets, in relation to the actual demands, was observed in 34% cows of group A; instead, in groups B and C the surplus of energy in diets fed - was noted in 62% and 75% cows. Protein deficiency in uptaken feed occurred in 11% cows of group A, in 10% cows of group B and in 24% cows of group C, while the excess in 28, 19 and 22% cows, respectively.
