The problem of user authentication and authorization is usually being solved in a single system. Federated environment assumes heterogeneity of systems, which brings the problem of mutual users and services authentication and authorization. In this article the authors presented security requirements for cross domain information exchange in federated environments and a method of secure access to information resources on the basis of web services. Special attentionwas paid to authentication and authorization of users and services. As opportunities, there were presented solutions verified in multinational experimentations and exercises.

This paper presents a concept of IP Differentiated Services (DiffServ) architecture in conjunction with bandwidth brokerage and policy based network management, all aimed at efficient and flexible provision of the military oriented Quality of Service (M-QoS) features in the Australian Defence (strategic) wide area network and its satellite trunk interconnections with the tactical domain. Typical DiffServ functions are analysed in the paper with regard to their roles in offering M-QoS. Some preliminary simulation results of applying these mechanisms to achieve traffic policing and differentiation for (UDP) video traffic streams, are also presented. Finally, the paper proposes the use of bandwidth brokerage in each DiffiServ domain to facilitate automatic Service Level Specification (SLS) arrangements with end-user applications, and policy based network management to support the flexible implementation of bandwidth brokerage.

Opisano stan obecny i perspektywy rozwoju stacjonarnych i polowych systemów łączności NATO i Wojska Polskiego. Zwrócono uwagę na istniejące tendencje zmierzające do wykorzystania rozwiązań komercyjnych do zastosowań wojskowych. Przedstawiono stan prac dotyczących projektowania szerokopasmowego systemu łączności wojsk lądowych.

The paper describes currently existing status and perspectives of development fixed and mobile military communication systems used in NATO and Polish Military Forces. The paper is focused on the aspects based as much as possible on commercial off the shelf equipment in military applications. The paper presents the conjuncture in elaboration broadband communication system for Land Forces Polish Army.
