The paper deals with the modern variable-speed electric drive named E-Kit, dedicated to electrification of used small passenger cars with combustion engines. The main assumptions taken into account when designing E-Kit drive are described in the paper. Main electrical parameters and electromechanical characteristic curves of Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor dedicated to E-Kit drive are presented. On the IPMSM motor's electromechanical curves two speed control zones are distinguished and described: constant torque zone and constant power zone. Mechanical construction of this motor is also described shortly. In the paragraph 5 the results of traction calculations and appropriate traction characteristic curves of E-Kit drive are presented.
