This article focuses exclusively on the issues of railway traffic control devices availability in traffic management. One of the factors affecting this availability are tests conducted during maintenance or repair works. A review of the literature in the field of test determination methods was conducted. Next, the railway traffic control system was described and the elements influencing availability were defined. Assumptions and an algorithm of the procedure were presented and the method of determining the tests was proposed.

Artykuł skupia się wyłącznie na problematyce dostępności urządzeń sterowania ruchem kolejowym do prowadzenia ruchu. Jednym z czynników mającym wpływ na dostępność są testy realizowane w trakcie prac utrzymaniowych czy naprawach. Dokonano przeglądu literatury w zakresie istnienia metod wyznaczania testów. Następnie przedstawiono system sterowana ruchem kolejowym i zdefiniowano elementy wpływające na dostępność. Przedstawiono założenia i algorytm postępowania oraz zaproponowano metodę wyznaczania testów.

Multi-criteria decision making methods are extensively used in the decision making problems. Decision making is the activity of a person that helps obtain responses to the questions posed by a stakeholder in a decision process. This study compares the financial performance of seven companies in the banking sector listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) for years from 2014 to 2017. The PROMETHEE, AHP and TOPSIS methods are used independently to evaluate the financial performance and to decide on the best performing firm for the four year period. The evaluated ranks are then compared with the actual ranks (based on investments) using Spearman's rank correlation. The calculation of financial performance measures is based on four main criteria and nine sub-criteria. Using the following methods, our study suggests that Punjab National Bank (PNB) has the best financial performance as compared to other companies.

Opracowano dwie metody wyznaczania korelacji na współczynniki wnikania ciepła w wymiennikach o powierzchniach rozwiniętych. Zaproponowano dwie metody identyfikacji warunków wymiany ciepła. W pierwszej zakłada się, że zależność na wspolczynnik wnikania ciepła po stronie płynu chłodzącego jest znana a wyznaczany jest wzór na współczynnik wnikania ciepła po stronie płynu chłodzącego jest znana a wyznaczany jest wzór na współczynnik wnikania ciepła od strony powietrza. W metodzie drugiej wyznaczane są wzory na liczbę Nusselta po stronie płynu chłodzącego oraz po stronie powietrza.

This paper presents numerical methods for experimental determining heat transfer cofficients in cross-flow heat exchangers with extended heat transfer surfaces. Two inverse methods were developed to determine correlations for the heat transfer coefficients. In the first method, the aie-side heat transfer coefficient was determined from the condition that the calculated and measured coolant outlet temperatures are equal. In the second method the problem of determining non-dimensional average heat transfer coefficients is formulated as a parameter estimation problem by selecting the functional form for the Nusselt number Nu=f)Re,Pr). There are m parameters x=(x1...xm), to be determined in such a way that computed outlet tube side fluid temperatures Tc,i agree in the last sense with the experimantally obtained temperatures fc,i. The non-linear , least-squares problem was solved using the Levenberg-Marquardt method. A numerical model of the heat exchanger was developed in order to calculate the outlet liquid temperature Ti as the function of searched parameters.

W artykule przedstawiono dwie metodologie okreslenia sprawności elektrowni gazowo-parowych. Główną uwagę skupiono na wyznaczeniu maksymalnej sprawnosci części parowej układu i odpowiadających jej parametrów. Opracowane metodologie pozwalają wyznaczyc sprawność badanych układów w funkcji temperatury na wlocie do turbiny gazowej i stopnia sprężania przy optymalnej części parowej układu. Obliczenia wykonano dla elektrowni z kotłem dwuciśnieniowym.

The paper deals with two methods of determining the efficiency of combined gas-and-steam power stations. For each of the examples of calculations have been quoted. These two methods permit to determine the efficiency of investigated system as a function of temperature at the inlet to the gas turbine and the compression ratio for the optimal steam part of the system. Calculations have been carried out for power station with a double- pressure waste-heat boiler.

Jako wniosek proponuje wprowadzenie jako uzupełnienia w programach edukacji przedmiotów obejmujących zagadnienia ogólnej metodologii nauk.

The paper presents the problems students have with methodology. The author has noticed that students of both masters and doctoral studies have problems while writing thesis fulfilling the scientific requirements. He suggests introducing the problems of general methodology into the educational programmes.

The present paper examines the prognosis sensitivity methodology depending on the machine operation factors. It offers a simulation programme which is to measure the machine condition sensitivity prognosis. The preliminary investigation defines the need of and potential for machine condition prognosis sensitivity; application of prognosis-defining methodology in the dynamic machine operation system.
