Strategic analysis of the Arms Company

The main objective of the article is to conduct a strategic analysis of an arms company from the defense industry sector selected from a group of companies belonging to Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa S.A. The article attempts to verify the following research hypothesis: It should be presumed that the appropriate selection of methods of strategic analysis contributes to a more objective determination of the development potential of an entity from the arms industry. This can lead to stable company development and increase the competitiveness of arms companies. A strategic analysis of the company was conducted based on the PEST method, Porter's five forces method, strategic balance and SWOT/TOWS analysis. A synthesis of the findings of the research methods used was made.

W artykule scharakteryzowano rynek usług kurierskich wraz z określeniem specyfiki warunków panujących w jego obrębie. Wskazano czynniki, które determinują rozwój tego sektora. Ponadto zaprezentowano podejście do oceny otoczenia konkurencyjnego przedsiębiorstwa przy wykorzystaniu metody pięciu sił Portera. Zaproponowana procedura pozwala firmom dokonać właściwych analiz w zakresie określenia warunków, jakie wspomagają bądź utrudniają im funkcjonowanie na rynku.

In article was characterized courier services’ market and estimation of its specific conditions. There were pointed factors which determine development of that sector of business. Moreover it was presented Porter five forces method with application to assessment of competitive environment of an enterprise. Proposed procedure allows firms to conduct appropriate analyses in scope of determining of conditions, which facilitate or impede their operation on the market.
