This paper presents the determination of the mass moisture content by the nondestructive resistivity method. Bricks which had been kept in respectively a sulphate, chloride and nitrate water medium with a different ion concentration and in a water medium as a reference were subjected to the tests. It has been shown that salinity has a significant influence on resistivity meter indications and that this influence is similar for different salt concentrations in brick whereby the estimated moisture content value is overrated relative to the actual value. The test results were generalized by deriving correlations between mass moisture content Wm and resistivity meter indication X, intended to be used in building practice.
