Modern induction motor drive systems requires good quality of torque control. The lack of rotor speed and position measurement precision results in a lack of precise control of the electromagnetic torque of the motor. In industrial drive systems shaft encoder resolution sometimes does not exceed 16 pulses per revolution. This causes a low accuracy of measurements at small angular speed, which in classical vector control systems lead to a lack of precise control of the electromagnetic torque. In this article, a simple method to improve torque control quality due to low encoder resolution was shown. It is based on stator current angle synthesis decomposition in which a proper information about shaft position is used with estimated shaft angular speed information. This solution allow to achieve a proper control of both electromagnetic torque and rotor flux. A simulation and test-stand results was included to show a efficiency of proposed method.
