The presented article familiarizes the reader with optimizing the workplaces of ultrasonic welding machines. The essential part of the article deals with prototypes, the construction of which does not meet the requirements for production, economy, and functionality. The experimental analysis runs pointed out shortcomings and inaccuracies. The developer's team used one of the well-known optimization and design methods to solve this issue. It is the TRIZ method (Creating and solving creative assignments). The mentioned method combines two powerful tools into one whole. Specifically, it is the Function and Cost Analysis (FNA) and the algorithm for solving creative assignments (ARIZ). The manuscript describes the use of the method for a more straightforward solution to problematic parts of the structure. The result of the optimization process is a new, improved structure whose properties were confirmed in terms of stiffness by simulation in the ANSYS Workbench program. The applications of optimized parts will also be used in other similar devices. The research will follow up with the design of a new series of ultrasonic welding machines in the future.

The study analyzes the operation of the sharp edges removal. This method is described here as a technical system. The analysis was performed according to the initial recommendations of TRIZ (Theory of Solving Innovative Tasks) by building an array of morphological factors that affect the development and the setting lines of the system. This article also includes new and important ideas on removing sharp edges.

The paper presents application of TRIZ method in business for improving innovative activities of companies. Modern TRIZ for Business and Management is not yet as thoroughly elaborated as TRIZ for Technology and Engineering. We need to further study business-specific trends and patterns of business systems evolution, create business-specific databases, and so forth. But the same applies to TRIZ itself - it has been ever-evolving Science. And as practice shows, even with a current body of TRIZ knowledge for Business and Management we can success-fully solve problems and come up with new innovative solutions. Power of analytical tools of TRIZ makes the method effective in addressing a wide range of challenges and problems, with sup-porting tools like QFD, FMEA, Technology Road mapping or Six Sigma. But what really matters is not amount of Information in the TRIZ databases, but a new way of breakthrough thinking proposed by TRIZ: through eliminating contradictions towards ideality. Instead blind search and jumping to ideas and conclusions too fast, we thoroughly analyze a situation, reveal con-traditions, and resolve them in "win-win" way. Understanding of the mechanisms of evolutionary transitions and the TRIZ trends of evolution can help businesses to define strategic development based on a systematic approach rather than on guesses, trials and errors. This way of thinking will enrich everyone who wants to stay at the leading edge of innovation. Let us say, today's TRIZ for business and management is like a car which can bring us too many destinations. No doubt, one day we will have a space ship.
