Non-destructive estimation of residual stress anisotropy in the web of 80mm I beam

In this paper the measurement’s methodology and investigations’ results of residual stress anisotropy determined by nondestructive magnetic Barkhausen method was shown. The measurements were carried out in the web of the 40x80 I-shape beam. The compressive stress along the length of the product and tensile stress in perpendicular direction were revealed. The special construction of two-directional measuring head was used during the testing.

W artykule przedstawiono sposób pomiaru i wyniki badań anizotropii naprężeń własnych za pomocą nieniszczącej metody magnetycznej Barkhausena. Pomiary przeprowadzone zostały w środniku dwuteownika I 80 mm. W wyniku badań stwierdzono występowanie naprężeń ściskających wzdłuż długości środnika i naprężeń rozciągających w kierunku prostopadłym. W trakcie badań, została użyta specjalna konstrukcja dwukierunkowej głowicy pomiarowej.

Celem artykułu jest omówienie problemów, jakie występują podczas badań naprężeń występujących w kształtownikach stalowych używanych do budowy konstrukcji stalowych za pomocą magnetycznej metody Barkhausena. Analizowane zostały takie czynniki jak stan powierzchni, zmienna grubość przekroju, zróżnicowanie wielkości ziarna ferrytu.

The aim of this paper is to discuss the problems of the stress measurements by magnetic Barkhausen method, occurs in shapes used for steel construction building. The factors such as state of the surface, variable thickness of cross section and differentiation of ferrite grain size were analysed.

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie opracowanego systemu diagnostyki technicznej, służącego do oceny i kontroli naprężeń, a także stanu mikrostruktury w elementach konstrukcyjnych maszyn i urządzeń, opartego na metodzie pomiarowej, w której wykorzystano magnetyczne zjawisko Barkhausena. Przedstawiono podstawy metody Barkhausena, obszary jej zastosowań, konstrukcję aparatury badawczo-pomiarowej oraz systemu automatycznego pozycjonowania głowicy pomiarowej. Zaprezentowano również algorytm programu sterującego oraz przykładowe wyniki badań uzyskane za pomocą opracowanego systemu.

The aim of this article is to present elaborated system of technical diagnostic, based on Bark-hausen method, predicted for estimate and control of stress and microstructure state in machinery and constructional elements. The basis of Barkhausen method, fields of applications, construction of the investigation apparatus and the automated systems of measuring head positioning were described. The operation algorithm and the results of measurements obtained by elaborated system were presented.
