W artykule przedstawiono prototypowe, ręczne urządzenie do wyznaczania metanowości wentylacyjnej. Cechą charakterystyczną miernika jest zintegrowanie czujnika prędkości strumienia powietrza z czujnikiem stężenia metanu w sposób umożliwiający pomiar zbliżony do punktowego, zsynchronizowany w czasie. W technice pomiaru jest wykorzystywana metoda trawersu ciągłego. Wykonano pomiary w chodniku nadścianowym, porównując ich wyniki z rezultatami uzyskanymi na podstawie wskazań przyrządów stacjonarnych i ręcznych. Obliczono metanowości wentylacyjne i porównano je z danymi kopalni.

In this paper, a prototype of a manually operated meter used for the determination of methane concentration in ventilation air in underground mine headings is presented. The specific feature of this meter is that the sensor of the air jet velocity and the methane concentration sensor are integrated, and this allows for the conducting of measurements in a way that is close to the punctual one, and synchronized in time. In the measurement technique, the continuous traverse method is used. Measurements were conducted in an over-longwall heading and then the obtained results were compared with those shown by stationary devices and hand meters. The levels of the ventilation methane content were calculated and compared with the mine data.

W pracy przedstawiono budowę i zasadę działania czujników katalitycznych (pellistorów) oraz czujników termokonduktometrycznych służących do pomiaru stężenia metanu. Wymieniono i omówiono najważniejsze normy oraz przepisy dotyczące pomiarów metanu w atmosferze kopalnianej z uwzględnieniem wymagań nałożonych na konstruowane metanomierze. W dalszej części artykułu opisano wybrane badania czujników, które przeprowadzono w pracach realizowanych w Centrum EMAG. Przedstawiono podstawowe charakterystyki pomiarowe obu rodzajów czujników.

A structure and a principle of operation of catalytic detectors (pelistors) and thermoconductometric sensors designed for measurement of methane concentration have been presented in the paper. The most important standards and regulations relating to methane measurements in the mine air have been listed and discussed taking into account the demands made on the methane monitors to be developed. Furthermore there have been described in the paper the chosen tests of detectors, which have been made within the works carried out in the EMAG Centre. The fundamental measuring characteristics of both types of detectors have been presented.
