There are many techniques of multidimensional data visualization. Part of them was built for a specific purpose, while another part is very general. In case of the former, the selection of appropriate technique is straight forward, for the latter the selection is not always obvious. In certain simplification, selecting the most appropriated technique depends on the data which are visualized and the task that needs to be performed by the user over the visualization. This study is focused on evaluation of known visualization techniques for their applicability to a well-defined task and data set. The data set consist of medical patterns representing human diseases and their symptoms as an object-attribute data model. The task is to facilitate recognition of a disease by visualizing the reference medical patterns and the data of patient’s condition.

W pracy przedstawiono możliwość wykorzystania przestrzeni pajęczynowych do graficznego modelowania wzorców medycznych jednostek chorobowych oraz stanu zdrowia pacjenta. Przedstawiono ogólną koncepcję algorytmu wspomagania procesu diagnozowania stanu zdrowia pacjenta, bazującą na określaniu podobieństwa modeli graficznych stanu zdrowia pacjenta i zawartych w repozytorium wzorców jednostek chorobowych. Sformułowano wielokryterialne zadanie optymalizacji rozpoznawania wzorców medycznych.

The paper presents the possibility of using web space for graphical modelling of disease unit patterns and status of the patient health. An algorithm provides a general idea of supporting the process diagnosing of the patient health, based on determining the similarity graphical models of the health status and contained in the repository of disease unit patterns. Multicriteria optimization task of medical pattern recognition has been formulated.
