The Lithuanian national standard of electric resistance is maintained as the basis for calibration and measurement capabilities published in the key comparison database of the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM). The stability and uncertainty of the resistance value measurements, performed since 2004 using the calibrated values of the standard resistors to predict their future behaviour as well as influence of environmental conditions, are discussed. Also discussed is the recovery of a standard resistor which had undergone a mechanical disturbance. It is concluded that the standard resistors operated by the Lithuanian National Electrical Standards Laboratory feature stable drift of resistance, which is well predicted by means of linear regression.

The paper presents results of investigations of the two precise voltage followers (buffers) intended for the use in precision impedance metrology. The main application of these buffers are buffering the outputs of multi-phase digital sources of sinusoidal voltage used in precise impedance measurements.

Metrology is the science of measurement and its applications. Metrology comprises all theoretical and practical aspects of measurements, irrespective of the value of measurement uncertainty and the field of application. The fast development of the contemporary global economy based on innovative technologies poses new challenges to modern metrology. Economical progress requires reliable measurements and tests that are internationally accepted, so that they do not constitute a technical barrier to trade and industrial development. The prerequisite for reliability of measurements and tests is availability of the metrological infrastructure. One of the most important elements of that infrastructure are measurement standards of possibly highest accuracy. This paper presents measurement standards maintained in the Central Office of Measures and their role in the national metrological infrastructure. Because the Mutual Recognition Arrangement is a response to a growing need for an open, transparent and comprehensive scheme to give users reliable quantitative information on the comparability of national metrology services, its role is presented in this paper.

Some problems associated with generation and propagation of AE standard pulses generated in the Hsu-Nielsen source are discussed in the paper. The pulses, generated in Hsu-Nielsen source, have been used for calibration of a measuring device intended for the registration of acoustic emission. In the first part of the paper, the idea of the method and technical conditions permitting to make the source, are presented. In the second part, the investigations carried out on a real object and determination of characteristic descriptors, both in time and frequency domains, are desribed.

W artykule przedstawiono zagadnienia związane z powstawaniem i propagacją wzorcowych impulsów EA generowanych w układzie Hsu-Nielsena. Impulsy generowane w układzie Hsu-Nielsena wykorzystywane są do wzorcowania aparatury pomiarowej przeznaczonej do rejestracji emisji akustycznej. Przedstawiono ideę metody oraz warunki techniczne pozwalające na wykonanie układu. Opisano badania przeprowadzone na obiekcie rzeczywistym, wyznaczając charakterystyczne deskryptory zarówno w dziedzinie czasu jak i w dziedzinie częstotliwości.
