At the National Institute of Metrological Research (INRIM) an evaluation of a commercial dual source high resistance bridge has been performed. Its two main measurement modes (single measurements and multiple measurements) have been investigated. The best settle time of a 10:1 measurement of high resistance ratio has been estimated to be about three times the time constant of the circuit involving the resistors. This constant, in turn, depends on the highest value resistor. By means of mathematical estimators, suitable numbers of the readings of the detector have been established in order to minimize noises. A compatibility test at 100 TΩ has shown that the best precision of the commercial bridge is achieved utilizing the multiple measurements mode with the auto update function. This mode also allows the characterization of a resistor as a function of the settle time. This characterization can be useful for the owner of the resistor who can request the laboratory to perform the calibration of the resistor with the settle time which is necessary for him.

Noise is a fundamental metrological characteristic of the instrument in surface topography measurement. Therefore, measurement noise should be thoroughly studied in practical measurement to understand instrument performance and optimize measurement strategy. This paper investigates the measurement noise at different measurement settings using structured illumination microscopy. The investigation shows that the measurement noise may scatter significantly among different measurement settings. Eliminating sample tilt, selecting low vertical scanning interval and high exposure time is helpful to reduce the measurement noise. In order to estimate the influence of noise on the measurement, an approach based on metrological characteristics is proposed. The paper provides a practical guide to understanding measurement noise in a wide range of applications.

In this paper, various type of noise detection procedures with surface topography profile analysis were proposed, compared (studied) and suggested. The honed cylinder liner surface textures with additionally burnished oil pockets were measured with a stylus or optical approaches. Measurement errors, defined as high-frequency measurement noise, were taken into sufficient consideration. It was proposed to select the noise detection methods more with profile (2D) than areal (3D) assessments; some-frequency noise was much easier to observe in profile than surface analysis. Moreover, applications of various type of regular filtration methods, mostly based on Gaussian functions, were compared with Fast Fourier Transform filtration for detection or reduction of some (high) frequency-defined measurement errors.

W artykule zaprezentowana została koncepcja innowacyjnego systemu do oceny komfortu użytkowania dźwigu osobowego w oparciu o parametry wibroakustyczne generowane przez urządzenie podczas pracy.

The article was presented the concept of an innovative system for the evaluation of a passenger lift comfort based on vibro-acoustic parameters generated by the device during operation. This project assumes that the system will record parameters such as vibration and noise, and on this basis as a function of time were to determine the comfort (its deterioration). The project envisages the use of existing components such as lift GSM transmitter and controller in order to reduce the cost of installation.

The active and reactive powers in the doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) create a cross-coupling impact and inter-dependent relationship, affecting each other. This effect would not result in desirable reference tracking. To remove the cross-coupling impact, common decoupling methods such as state feedback decoupling can be applied. However, system robustness is too low against wind speed variation and consequently to that of rotor speed, which is inevitable. This disadvantage can be overcome by the suggestion of a Linear Quadratic Gaussian (LQG) controller. Using this controller, system robustness is improved versus both wind speed and DFIG parameters variation.

W artykule opisano metodę odsprzężenia mocy czynnej w sterowaniu maszyną o dwustronnym zasilaniu (DFIG) poprzez zastosowanie regulatora LQG (ang. Linear Quadratic Gaussian). W ten sposób uzyskuje się poprawę dynamiki odpowiedzi algorytmu z odprzężeniem na zmianę prędkości wirnika oraz parametrów maszyny.

This paper describes an algorithm for handling experimental data of periodical processes with Microsoft Excel. Thanks to this method, it is possible to prepare experimental results for analysis with the use of simple, easily available tools. The algorithm filters data and removes what is called measurement noise. This makes it possible to more precisely identify the trends in the analysed data.

Opisano algorytm opracowania w Excelu danych eksperymentalnych procesów okresowych. Zaprezentowana metoda pozwala, za pomocą prostych, łatwo dostępnych narzędzi, przygotować wyniki pomiarowe do analizy. Algorytm filtruje dane, usuwając tak zwany szum pomiarowy. Dzięki temu staje się możliwe bardziej precyzyjne zauważenie trendów analizowanych danych.
