In the paper there are analyzed the procedures used in the process of calibrating concerning control and measurement equipment. There was assumed the mathematical model of the measuring instrument which was then analyzed. The factors that result from the imperfect technical condition of the control and measurement equipment and may have an impact on the measurement results were also analyzed. Models of errors' models were assumed that may affect the calibration results. The static calibration of control and measurement equipment was analyzed. The results of numerical simulations concerning the static calibration of control and measurement equipment were presented, taking into account the linear and non-linear processing functions of the measurement equipment. The results of computations obtained for various models of processing functions were compared with each other and conclusions were drawn regarding the accuracy of the mapping of the measured quantity.

W artykule opisano czynniki wpływające na dokładność pomiarów fizykochemicznych wód powierzchniowych wykonywanych z użyciem systemu pomiarowego zamontowanego na konstrukcji katamaranu oraz próby poprawy jakości sygnałów za pomocą filtru medianowego. System pomiarowy umożliwia wykonywanie pomiarów wybranych wielkości w zbiornikach wodnych. W ramach badań parametrów stawu „Cegielnia” w Gliwicach wzdłuż zadanej trajektorii wykonano pomiary stężenia tlenu, konduktywności oraz temperatury, a także określono potencjał elektrod: pH-metrycznej, amonowej, azotanowej oraz chlorkowej. Wyznaczono wybrane statystyki serii danych oraz przedstawiono je w postaci graficznej z użyciem oprogramowania napisanego w języku Python. Zbadano wpływ pracy silników napędowych na dokładność pomiarów.

In this paper we describe factors influencing quality of physicochemical surface water measurements collected using mobile measurement system. The system has been continuously developed and examined since 2013. It allows measuring of chosen quantities in water containers. During the experiment at “Cegielnia” pond in Gliwice, we measured oxygen concentration, temperature, conductivity and EMF of ion-selective pH, ammonium, nitrate and chloride electrodes. Collected data were characterized by several statistical quantities: mean value, median, skewness and standard deviation. Measurement analysis was provided using open source numerical libraries written in Python programming language. It was observed DC motors work influences measurement quality, causing peaks, signal asymmetry and standard deviation increase. These undesired effects can be reduced using properly chosen filters, e.g. median filter.

W artykule podjęto rozważania dotyczące statusu wyposażenia kontrolnopomiarowego użytkowanego na stacjach kontroli pojazdów. Zwrócono uwagę na niewystarczające regulacje prawne w tym obszarze. Zaproponowano rozwiązania dotyczące dokumentowania statusu przyrządów i urządzeń. Przedstawiono definicję wyrobu certyfikowanego przyjętą przez Instytut Transportu Samochodowego (ITS).

Zastosowanie licznych nowatorskich rozwiązań składających się na kompleksową modernizację spowodowało zdecydowana poprawę jego oceny przez studentów – bez obniżania poziomu nauczania.

Complex modernization of Measurement Fundamentals Laboratory in the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology Warsaw University of Technology is described in this presentation. Due to the negative critical opinion of students we decided to implement new ideas into our educational system. All aspects of laboratory functioning were modified i.e. the teaching program, lab organization, equipment, IT system and personnel duties. Totally new high quality equipment was bought via the European funds. Laboratory manuals and information’s for each experiment also instruments data are available in Intranet. Student reports are entirely prepared on computers during each session and stored in electronic form on the faculty server later. Multimedia presentations and simulations acting as additional aids were also prepared and given to students. So-called Open Laboratory sessions were additionally introduced. Our students can practice on available equipment and prepare themselves to regular sessions. We have already finished the first semester of the new lab. The special survey was conducted. Students have evaluated very positively the new form of our laboratory and recognized them as being more friendly. From the point of the staff view it was achieved without any decrease of educationally required qualifications. The modernization was realized by the team of 10 persons during the period of two years.

Results of the tests are presented which make it possible to estimate the uncertainty budget for the measurements of the out of roundness deviations of the crankshaft main bearing journal. The measurements had been taken by means of the instrument specially adopted for the shape tolerance checks.

W artykule przedstawiono ocenę procesu akredytacji laboratorium wzorcującego przyrządy pomiarowe. Opisano wymagania dotyczące systemu zarządzania i wymagania techniczne jakie powinno ono spełnić aby uzyskać, a następnie utrzymać, certyfikat akredytacji. Zwrócono także uwagę na istotny problem subiektywnej oceny laboratorium przez audytorów. Zwrócono uwagę na wagę akredytacji, pokazano mechanizmy jej działania i wykazano, że jej celem jest potwierdzenie jakości wykonywanych prac.

This article presents the evaluation of calibration laboratory in process of accreditation and describes technical and quality requirements which laboratory has to fulfill to achieve the certificate of accreditation. Authors try to emphasize significant problem of subjective authorization of calibration laboratory by assessors. Accreditation is the formal authorization of a laboratory. It demonstrates theirs capability, competence and credibility to carry out the tasks it should be able to do. The concept of calibration laboratory accreditation was developed to provide that a laboratory is competent to perform specific measurements. It provides feedback to laboratories as to whether they are performing their work in accordance with technical competence and appropriate standards especially PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005. Laboratory accreditation is a mean to improve customer confidence in the measurement results issued by the laboratory. In Poland institution which makes formal authorizations of laboratories is Polish Center of Accreditation.(PCA). Laboratory has to do a plan to obtaining accreditation and nominate a responsible person as quality manager and technical manager. Accreditation Committee which consists of the lead assessor and technical assessors will examine laboratory. The number of technical assessors will depend on the number of disciplines applied for. If results of final assessment will be satisfying, Accreditation Committee recommends the accreditation for laboratory. Accreditation for a laboratory is valid for a period of four years but each year Accreditation Committee examines laboratories if they want to keep it.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki pracy polegającej na zbudowaniu modelu przenośnego urządzenia do pomiaru niskich stężeń metanu. W urządzeniu zastosowano tani, katalityczny czujnik gazu palnego oraz mikrokontroler sterujący urządzeniem. Urządzenie posiada możliwość kalibracji oraz odczytu wskazań na lokalnym wyświetlaczu LCD. Przeprowadzono badania czujnika oraz urządzenia w celu weryfikacji poprawności jego działania. Oceniona została niepewność pomiarów.

The article features the results of a project aimed at building a model of a portable device for measuring low concentration of methane. The device is equipped with a cheap, catalytic inflammable gas sensor and a microcontroller. The device has a possibility to calibrate and the readings can be displayed on an LCD. The sensor and the device were tested for correct functioning. The measuring errors were evaluated.

Pomiary prądu krytycznego są wykonywane metodą pośrednią, poprzez określenie spadku napięcia na odcinku pomiarowym nadprzewodnika. W artykule została przedstawiona przykładowa charakterystyki prądowo-napięciowa wyznaczona dla wysokotemperaturowej cienkowarstwowej taśmy nadprzewodzącej serii SF12050 wyprodukowanej przez firmę SuperPower Inc.

In this paper in order to measure current parameters, a measuring system was designed to investigate sections of the tapes at the temperature of liquid nitrogen. The system is powered with direct current with parameters I= 0 ÷ 580A and U= 0 ÷ 8V. Measurements of critical current were taken by means of determination of the decline in voltage along the measurement section for the tape with accuracy of 1nV. This paper presents the results of investigations of a state-of-the art high-temperature ceramic superconducting tape of SF 12050 series. The study focuses on current and voltage characteristics of superconducting tapes of SF series.

Purpose: of the paper has been an attainment of the confirmation that the base of improvement of production processes in the meaning of quality of products and safety workplace are the results of measurement, monitoring and analysis realised with usage of measurement equipment. Design/methodology/approach: Methodology used for the analysis has included design of the test and measurement system also measurement equipment required for the correct performance of tests. Findings: of analysis are as follows: properly designed system of management and supervision of test and measurement equipment should be capable of achieving the accurate and reliable results being the base for making subsequently relevant decisions. Practical implications: can apply in case of any organisation, which uses clearly established procedures for obtainment, identification, usage and calibration of test and measurement equipment. Originality/value: Value of the presented paper has been constituted by working out the plan of supervision of test and measurement equipment from the moment of selection criterion planning until the usage withdrawal.

Celem badań penetracyjnych zabytkowych konstrukcji metalowych jest ocena ich stanu technicznego i przydatności do dalszego użytkowania. W artykule omówiono wady zabytkowych konstrukcji metalowych wykrywane za pomocą badań penetracyjnych, warunki wykonywania badań, wymagania dla personelu badawczego, zestawy do badań penetracyjnych, sprzęt pomiarowy i pomocniczy oraz przebieg badań. Jako przykład zamieszczono wyniki badań penetracyjnych wycinka konstrukcji nitowanej dachu zabytkowej hali warsztatowej.

The purpose of liquid-penetrant inspection of metallic structures of historic value is the assessment of their technical state and suitability for further operational use. In the paper, it has been discussed the flaws of metal structures detected by means of penetrant inspection, conditions under which the inspection can be made, requirements as for inspection personnel, liquid-penetrant sets, measuring and auxiliary equipment and the inspection course. As an example, it has been inserted the results of inspection of a section of riveted structure of the antique workshop roof.

Przedstawiono działania podjęte w celu wdrożenia systemu zarządzania w Laboratorium Wzorcującym Instytutu Techniki Budowlanej na zgodność z PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Ogólne wymagania dotyczące kompetencji laboratoriów badawczych i wzorcujących. Aby laboratorium uzyskało certyfikat akredytacji AP 113 wydany przez Polskie Centrum Akredytacji, należało podjąć decyzję o akredytacji, przygotować dokumentację systemową i techniczną, poddać się wizytacji wstępnej przez auditorów Polskiego Centrum Akredytacji, zakupić uzupełniające wyposażenie, znowelizować i zaktualizować dokumentację, wdrożyć system zarządzania zgodny z PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 oraz pozytywnie przejść audit akredytacyjny.

This paper deals with the actions which were undertaken to implement the management system in the Calibration Laboratory of BRI, according to PN-EN ISO/EC 17025 General requirements for the competence of the testing and calibration laboratories. To obtain the certificate of accreditation AP 113 for Calibration Laboratory issued by the Polish Centre for Accreditation the following steps have to be done taking a decision on accreditation, preparation of the system and technical procedures, taking measures for preliminary audit of the Polish Centre for Accreditation, buying the supplement equipment, revision and updating of the documentation, implementation of the management system according to PN-EN ISO/EC 17025:2005, and positive passage of the final accreditation audit.
