Artykuł przedstawia tematykę wybranych źródeł danych oraz sposobu ich pozyskiwania dostępnych w przeszłości oraz dzisiaj, które mogą być wykorzystane w modelowaniu złóż. Zwrócono też uwagę na podstawowe zasady tworzenia modeli przestrzennych oraz sposoby efektywnego wykorzystania źródeł danych oraz informacji poprzez wykorzystanie obecnie dostępnych technologii. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono też danym i informacjom pochodzącym z materiałów archiwalnych.

This article presents the topics of selected data sources and how they are available in the past and today that can be used in modeling the fields. Also highlighted are the basic principles of spatial modeling and ways to make efficient use of data and information sources by using existing technologies. Particular attention has also been paid to archival data and information.

In order to estimate the current state of still used monumental hydrotechnical objects and bridges, geotechnical investigations and bearing capacity analysis of their foundations, have to be conducted. Foundations of these types of structures are not always available for direct diagnosis or for non-destructive methods of testing. It particularly concerns former foundations on timber piles. The results of research on geotechnical conditions of foundations of the bridge with the weir structure (called further: "the weir"), on the Cy-bina river in Poznań, have been presented in the paper. The weir was built in the 19th century as an element of fortification system for the Poznań fortress and is now only used as a small bridge. For this object have been found: the original design documentation of foundations, and also - using contemporary terminology - the original geotechnical documentation, dated from 1886. Field geotechnical investigations have been conducted in order to verify and correctly interpret the archival materials. Results of the research can be used for evaluation of interaction of object's foundations with subsoil. Diagnosis of structure of subsoil in the 19th century archival materials has been confirmed as very reliable.

The essence of this article is a review with regards to archive sources, elaborated by the Intelligence Department of the Polish Armed Forces in the post First World War period. The Material in Central Military Archive is entitled “Short geographic - political data on Afghanistan”. It has been published because of the information needs related to the visit of Afghani King Amanullah chan to the Republic of Poland on 30th of April, 1928. Such elements are presented as: area and borders of Afghanistan, military importance of this country, main military roads, military forces, main cities, social relations and natural resources, internal policy and history of the fighting for in-dependence. While presenting the historical material the author added his own notes (also biographical ones) adding the contemporary context. He also showed the organizational changes in the Afghani armed Forces in the 1930 s. Also the linguistic aspect has been changed to the contemporary standards and interesting comments on the Polish - Afghani relations before the Second World War have been added.

Artykuł prezentuje możliwości wykorzystania materiałów archiwalnych pochodzących i Archiwów Państwowych dla celów zlokalizowania w terenie, umiejscowienia w czasie i udokumentowania działalności górniczej w starych kopalniach rud metali w Górach Sowich. Na przykładzie dwóch sztolni w dolinie Srebrnej Wody w rejonie Rzeczki, kopalni Anna na górze Błyszcz w rejonie Bielawy oraz, kopalni Augusta i Wilhelm w Kamionkach, przedstawiono w jaki sposób źródła archiwalne przyczyniają się do poznania historii poszczególnych wyrobisk, uszczegóławiają informacje w zakresie opisu technicznego kopalń, w końcu rozwijają wątpliwości i korygują dotychczasowe blady w lokalizacji sztolni. Jedynie połączenie wykorzystania badań i eksploracji terenowej ze studiami literatury fachowej, górniczej (w tym z XIX w.) oraz badania i poszukiwania archiwalne w zbiorach akt i map górniczych, stanowią gwarancję możliwie najlepszego poznania, udokumentowania i być może w przyszłości udostępnienia turystycznego dawnych kopalni w Górach Sowich.

The article presents possibilities of the use of archive materials from the State Archives for two-fold purpose: locating in time or space and documenting mining activities in old ore mines in Sowie Mountains. The author uses two examples of adits in the Srebrna Woda valley in the area of Rzeczka, the mine Anna on the mountain Blyszcz in the region of Bielawa and the mine August and Wilhelm in Kamionki and presents how the archival sources help in exploring the history of excavation. He show that maps provide details on technical description of mines, while correcting the mistakes in localization of adits.
