The paper presents a modeling method of fragment winding short circuit of phase coil of switched reluctance motor (SRM). In this method the simulation model parameters were calculated with the implementation of finite elements method (FEM). The processed numeric model of a switched reluctance motor Allowi to analyze different cases of inter coil short circuits for a different number of short circuit windings. Results of numeric simulation and laboratory tests for the prototype SRM motor are enclosed. Conclusions are presented
