W artykule przedstawiona została krótka historia rozwoju maszynek do mięsa, które w obecnym kształcie znane są od blisko 140 lat. Te niewielkie urządzenia, w większości zbudowane z odlewanych elementów, odgrywają doniosłą rolę w procesie wyżywienia ludzi. Omówione zostały pierwsze konstrukcje maszynek, a także maszynki wynalezionej przez Johna Bakera i stosowanej do dzisiaj. Przedstawiona została także historia produkcji maszynek do mięsa przez polskie odlewnie.

A short history of the development of meat mincers, which - in the present shape - are known since nealy 140 years is presented in this paper. These small devices, mainly built of cast elements, are very important in the process of feeding people. First constructions of such devices and also the machine developed by John Baker, which is applied up today, are described. The history of the production of such devices by Polish foundries is also presented.

Numerical modeling has been used for the simulation of the grinding process in the meat mincer. The calculation algorithm was based on the use of the net-point methods of the decision of the elastic-visco-plastic initial boundary problem. Within the framework of the developed mathematical model the following results were obtained: meat griding output, structurally mechanical characteristics of the output of force-meat, stress-strain state of grid, longevity of cutting assembly test.
