Measurement results of coefficients kL. and kLa are discussed in the paper. Based on local values, the effective mass transfer area in the whole tank was determined. For the height equal to the impeller position, a non-typical decrease of the effective mass transfer area was observed. This phenomenon confirmed that the entire real surface of gas bubbles did not take part in the mass transfer.
