Artykuł prezentuje wyniki wstępnych badań związków pomiędzy osobowością człowieka i jego podejściem do ryzyka oraz bezpieczeństwem manewrowania statkiem morskim na wodach ograniczonych. Przedstawione w artykule testy, przeprowadzone z udziałem grupy studentów Akademii Morskiej w Gdyni, obejmowały część praktyczną – test fizyczny, podczas którego studenci wykonywali zadane manewry na symulatorze nawigacyjno-manewrowym oraz badania ankietowe, pozwalające ocenić osobowość i podejście do ryzyka.

The paper presents the results of a preliminary research on the relations between the human personality and attitude to risk and ship-handling safety in restricted waters. The research had been carried out with the group of students from Gdynia Maritime University having the same level of professional knowledge and ship-handling skills. Each respondent during the maneuvering tests performed the single-man watch on the Full Mission Ship-handling Simulator. Parallel to physical skills test on the simulator each respondent filled up psychological tests for defining his personality and risk attitude. On the basis of the test results the model of stress susceptibility assessment for each personality character will be proposed.
