The article presents comparative research on the effects of milling of concave corners of elements made of aluminum alloy 7075. The work focuses on the study of the impact of changes in technological parameters and types of machining on the obtained geometrical state of the machined samples. Correct milling of the corners requires selection of the appropriate feed rate and the proper engagement angle of the milling cutter. At the corners, tool engagement angle increases, which significantly hinders the execution of stable machining and adversely affects the geometric and qualitative characteristics of the surface in the corners. Study with application of various strategies and technological parameters of milling corners with variable opening angles were carried out. The main parameters of surface roughness of the machined elements were examined. When analyzing the results obtained, conclusions were formulated indicating the relationship between the change of selected technological parameters, with the assumed type of treatment, and the obtained quality parameters of the samples made.

It is well known that the position of the manufacturer of machine parts on the market depends on the quality and price of the components manufactured by them. In order to reduce production costs and thus to increase its competitiveness, the machine industry seeks energy-efficient machining strategies. As an example of this approach, CoroTurn PRIME reverse turning strategy can be cited. However, not every novelty brings with it a reduction in manufacturing costs. For this reason, the authors decided to explore this issue. This paper presents a study on the energy consumption of the reverse turning carried out on conventional lathe. This study involved a case of finishing turning.

Otrzymane w wyniku pomiaru mapy powierzchni ze zdefiniowanymi błędami były podstawą do weryfikacji kryterium doboru strategii obróbkowej, związanym z jakością wytwarzanych powierzchni.

The accuracy of some free-form samples with respect to strategy of the machining has been discussed in this paper. The three samples have been produced by CNC machine center. The accuracy analysis of produced free-form surfaces was made using coordinate measuring machine (CMM). The diagrams or maps of errors, received from measurement, are simply provided to conclusions, which strategy of the finishing operation will be acceptable.

Jednym z istotnych kierunków rozwoju systemów CAM jest dążenie do automatyzacji opracowania programów obróbkowych. Oprócz Skrócenia czasu przygotowania technologii, można także uzyskać wiele wariantów alternatywnych procesów obróbkowych. Procesy te można porównać ze względu na różne kryteria takie jak np. czas realizacji procesu, koszt, zapotrzebowanie mocy, wymagane momenty skrawania, itd. – jeszcze na etapie projektowania. W artykule przedstawione zostaną zasady zastosowania systemów CAM i przykład analizy oceny efektywności kilku wariantów realizacji fragmentu procesu obróbkowego.

One of the important directions of development of CAM systems is the desire to automate the preparing of CNC programs. In addition to shorten the time of preparation technology, you can also get a lot of alternatives of machining processes. These processes can be compared due to different criteria such as: process execution time, cost, power consumption, required moments of cutting, etc. – still at the design stage. In this article, the principles of the use of CAM systems for such analysis and evaluation of the effectiveness of several variants of the implementation portion of the machining process are presented.

Increasing machining accuracy realized on CNC machine tools causes that the more frequently surfaces machined with this technique are not subject to further finishing processing and directly affects on the final quality of the product. Achieving geometric accuracy established by the constructor is the problem that modern technologists and CAD/CAM programmers have to faced with. The paper presents the influence of toolpath tolerance and machining strategy available in CAD/CAM software on the constituting process of technological surface layer for elements limited with curvilinear surfaces. The impact of the above mentioned parameters on the location and direction of geometrical deviations were also analyzed. Following article is part of research of the impact of selected technological parameters on the freeform surfaces geometric structure manufactured on CNC machines

Purpose: The aim of this research is to make a study about the influence of the tool trajectory's generation on its tool life and the improvement of the surface quality in multi-axis milling at high speed machining of the knee prostheses. The material used for this study is the titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V ELI (TA6V ELI) for implant. Design/methodology/approach: The methodology has consisted on proving a serie of parameters combinations with various machining configurations and various programs of the tool trajectory's generation in three and five axes (the axis of the tool is maintained normal on the machined surface by rotation around Y axis; the axis of the tool is maintained according to axis Z; the axis of the tool is tilted around the Y axis). And determined the influence of the machining strategy over of the tool life. Findings: The knee prostheses are constructed with important mechanical resistance materials with complex form, which require high performance cutting tools and high cost. The good generation's trajectory of the cutting tool in multi-axes milling permits to minimize flank wear. High speed Machining offers a considerable profit in the capacity of surface quality, duration of the machining and polishing operations and consequently in improvement productivity. But the choice of the cutting speed must be recommended by the couple tool-materials. Research limitations/implications: A possible future work would be the development of a general the phenomenal of the residual stress of various machining configurations and various programs of the tool trajectory's generation and the knee protheses life. The behaviour of the residual stress studies are planed in the future. Practical implications: The relationship found between the milling strategy on the tool life and surface quality work piece has an important practical implication since it allows selecting the best cutting condition for knee prostheses. Results are of great importance in the quality of articulation surface so the cartilage in medicine industry. Originality/value: The paper is original since the bibliographical review has allowed testing that, although works about these themes exist, none approaches the problem like it has been made in this work. This paper could be an interesting source of information for engineers and researchers who work with machining knee prostheses.
