The paper addresses to verification of certain models of crushing processes. In particular, the layer, sphere and modified sphere models will be considered. The main subject of the verification was focused at comparison of the theoretical predictions of the loads occurring in the working chamber of a jaw crusher during crushing process against the actual loads obtained in laboratory model tests carried out for double-toggle jaw crusher. Some of the discussed models provide for approximate estimations of maximum and average loads.

Praca stanowi kontynuację badań przedstawionych w artykule [1], traktującym o koncepcjach modelowania maszynowych procesów kruszenia. Jej cele to: opis koncepcji tzw. modelu kulowego II, zastosowanie go do obliczania procesu kruszenia w kruszarce dwurozporowej 40.15 (MAKRUM) oraz weryfikacja niektórych uzyskanych wyników.

The work is a continuation of the research which was presented in the paper [1] on the conceptions of modeling of the machine crushing processes. The main aims of present work are: description of the sphere model II, application this model for analysis of the crushing processes (crushing forces, crushing energy, efficiency etc.) in a double toggle jaw crusher 40.15 MAKRUM and experimental verification of results.

One of the investigation trends in the mechanics of comminution (crushing and grinding) is modelling of machine processes. The work presents different conceptions (ideas) of this modelling. The matrix model formulated by Epstein, Broadbent and Callcott is shortly described. The cubic model according to the hypothesis of the crushing work multiplicity (I. Brach), the sphere model I and II as well as the cubic model are described in details (these are the new conceptions developed by the author).
