W artykule omówiono problematykę bezpieczeństwa użytkowania maszyn i pojazdów dla budownictwa, związaną z ograniczeniami możliwości obserwacji otoczenia pojazdu przez kierujących nimi. W publikacji poddano analizie manewry wykonywane w trakcie ruchu pojazdów i maszyn oraz związane z nimi potrzeby zapewnienia widoczności (z miejsca kierującego ) obszarów otaczających pojazd. Przedstawiono rozważania dotyczące tego, które obszary powinny być bezwzględnie widoczne z miejsca kierującego pojazdem. Jednocześnie pokazano wyniki badań widoczności typowego dużego samochodu ciężarowego. Wykazano rozbieżność pomiędzy tym, co kierujący może obserwować, a co powinien oraz czego nie jest w stanie obserwować. Pomimo, że powinien otrzymać przekaz wizualny z tych obszarów. Możliwość otrzymywania przekazu wizualnego z obszarów dotychczas niewidocznych będzie działaniem na rzecz poprawy systemu bezpieczeństwa czynnego pojazdu i uczestników ruchu drogowego.

Article presents problematic safety use of building trucks, related to limitation of surrounding visibility by driver. The report describes analysis of maneuvers executed in truck during movement of a building vehicle and connected with them needs of assurance of visibility (from the diver's position) the in vehicle's close proximity. Introduced considerations relating to areas that should be indispensably visible right are presented directive. Simultaneously, the results of investigations under visibility from the typical truck are presented. It has shown divergence among that the driver can observe and that he should, that he is not able to observe although that should be visible. Making possible to obtain the visual transfer from areas at the moment invisible will be the major thing of improvement of safety system of a moving vehicle and road participants.

Introducing NATO command procedures to our army has forced many changes in theory and practice of conducting military operations. One of the basic problems which has been verified recently is the evaluation of the terrain and weather conditions and in the same way the principles to carry out actions in specific conditions. The article presents the way of conducting military operations in conditions of limited visibility: at night and in fog. Technical devices functioning has been analysed (such as night vision system, thermal imagers, radars) and illuminating devices used to weaken the negative influence of limited visibility conditions have been dealt with. Then the duties of staffs and commanders in night actions and also the problems of camouflage have been discussed. The ways of night attacks and organisation of defence actions in limited visibility conditions have also been presented.
