Shear crack formatlon in cold drawing of magnesium and cobalt wires

The process of surface roughness development on cold drawn magnesium and cobalt wires inside the conical drawing hole was analysed using a wire stick preparation. It is shown that the hep-metals cobalt and magnesium are prone to be roughened in the conical part of the drawing hole. This roughening, including shear localization, leads to shear cracking. Shear cracks grow from the surface into the peripheral material of the wire in the die exit zone.

W referacie została przeprowadzona analiza modeli prognostycznych zacierania adhezyjnego, rekomendowanych do obliczeń inżynierskich rzeczywistych węzłów tarcia. Modele te analizowano pod kątem wykorzystania w nich informacji z testów standardowych oraz dotyczących materiału i warstwy wierzchniej. Stwierdzono, że stopień wykorzystania tych informacji jest niewielki.

In this paper was carried out the analysis of prognostic models of the adhesive scoring, recommended for engineering calculations of real, frictional tribosystems. These models were analyzed from the utilization point of view in them information from standard tests and concerning the material and the surface layer. It was found, that the degree of utilization this information is not large.
