Decarbonisation of the European economy is one of the most important megatrends that will shape economic and social development in the coming years. This paper discusses the basic concepts of decarbonisation in terms of climate change, the history of this idea development and the legal basis introduced in the European Union, including key European documents and tools influencing the process, like ETS or CO2 emission allowances. Background on decarbonisation has been presented as a European roadmap to achieve a low-carbon economy in Europe. In the article the main assumptions of the EU strategy papers like Clean Energy for All Europeans or the European Green Deal are presented. Casus Silesia indicates the basic problematic issues that coal regions will have to tackle to due to the transition away from coal. For European societies, the new environmental policy of the European Commission means the intensification of activities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and switching the economy to low- or zero-carbon energy sources and technologies. The decarbonisation of the economy is an ongoing process which has been gaining momentum in recent years. The coal transition is a huge challenge, particularly for Poland.

The essence of low-carbon logistics is to make logistics capacity grow moderately to meet the requirements of social and economic developments and the goals of energy conservation and carbon reduction through logistics planning and policies, logistics rationalization and standardization, logistics informationization, low-carbon logistics technologies, etc. This study evaluates the performances of human resources in low-carbon logistics enterprises from three assessment facets: work ability, work performance, and work attitude. It adopts the AHP method to reasonably determine an indicator system of performance evaluation and its weight to avoid certain human-caused bias. According to the results herein, the low-carbon work attitude of the case company in recent years has produced good performance, but its low-carbon work performance and low-carbon work ability are both poor. The case company should practically implement and strengthen these indicators so as to enhance human resource performance in low-carbon logistics enterprises. This study establishes a human resources performance evaluation system for low-carbon logistics enterprises to measure the low-carbon working ability, work performance, and working attitude of their general staff. In this way, enterprises may understand their development status, improve development plans, and formulate the best human resources management and development decisions, thus positively guiding their future development.

Low-carbon Cr-Ni-V steel specimens were austenitized at 810°C to 960°C for 30 min followed by isothermal quenching into a salt bath at the temperature range of 300–360 °C for different time (60, 90 and 120 min) to obtain structures with ferrite and various bainite morphologies. SEM studies showed that by increasing the austempering temperature, bainite structures varies from lower to upper bainite. Impact crack and hardness tests presented that increasing the austempering temperature from 300 °C to 360 °C leads to a changing in hardness and impact energy. Fractography of charpy impacted specimens showed ductile behavior for all austempering temperatures.

Zawartość węgla w kwasoodpornych gatunkach staliwa ma decydujący wpływ na czas pracy pomp, w środowisku jonów chlorkowych. Wykazano, że, wytapiając stal w warunkach atmosferycznych (bez próżni), można uzyskać w staliwie F-A zawartość węgla poniżej 0,03%C. Przy takiej zawartości węgla oraz zawartościach_ chromu w przedziale 24-26%, niklu w przedziale 5-7% i molibdenu w przedziale 2-3%, uzyskuje się dobrej jakości odlewy wirników i kierownic o masie do 500 kg. Zastosowana obróbka cieplna (przesycanie) zapewnia eliminację węglików, fazy i innych kruchych faz w odlewach o grubości ścianek od 5-35mm

The carbon content in the acid-resistant grades of cast steel has a decisive influence on the life of pumps working in the medium of chloride ions. It was proven that melting steel for castings in the atmospheric conditions (without vacuum) it is possible to obtain in the F-A steel the carbon content below 0,03%. With this carbon content, together with 24-26% Cr, 5-7% Ni and 2-3% Mo the casting of rotors and stators of good quality, weighTing up to 500 kg, can be obtained. The introducced heat treatment (solutioning) ensures elimination of carbides, the phase and other brittle phases from the castings of the wall thickness in the scope 5-35 mm.
