Purpose: Research institutes in Poland, when focusing on scientific and research activities, do not always find time and are not always keen on preparing and using modern marketing tools. Meanwhile, these tools in the conditions of strong competition could significantly improve their relations with customers and the strength of market influence. Given the above circumstances, the purpose of this article is to present the design, implementation and results of a customer satisfaction survey at one of the Polish research institutes. Design/methodology/approach: As part of the design and implementation of the customer satisfaction survey, the Net Promoter Score method and marketing automation instruments were used to assess the quality of customer relations and the level of customer loyalty to the studied institute (case study). Findings: The surveyed customers were mostly satisfied with the services and relationships with the described research institute. The areas requiring improvement were the pricing policy and the way the offer was presented. Research limitations/implications: Limitations resulting from research are typical for case studies and relate to the inability to generalize the results. Nevertheless, the obtained conclusions may constitute the basis for improving analytical marketing tools in other research units. Originality/value: The cognitive value of the article includes the design and implementation of a customer satisfaction survey at a research institute, and personalized practical conclusions about the level of customer satisfaction and loyalty of the studied institute.

The purpose of this paper was to prove the role of the quality of online banking services in the shaping of consumer loyalty. Data specifying (1) consumer characteristics, (2) type and manner of using services and (3) levels of partial service quality assessments were analysed. Empirical research was carried out on a sample of 384 consumers, and the results were processed by performing a multidimensional exploratory analysis with the use of classification trees and the CTree algorithm. As a result, it was proven that for the identified types of loyalty, both cognitive and active-conative loyalty, the only statistically important predictors of consumer loyalty are some indicators of partial service qualities (6 in the first model and 4 in the second model). In this way, the rank of the quality in shaping of consumer behaviours in a digital economy was empirically proven.

This article provides an overview of changes in the Polish energy market in terms of the marketing models used by energy companies since the 1990s. It describes models and marketing tools applied in Poland, including an analysis of the relationship marketing model. The article also presents differences between product and service marketing. Electrical energy is regarded as a social good. For decades in Poland it has been a product, a subject of trade, a mediumthat can be offered on the market. Thanks to the ongoing liberalization process, electricity as a product is moving dynamically from the monopolistic sphere towards the free market. This transition is smoothly enforced through an oligopoly phase – a transition through a period of a limited number of suppliers. It is worth noting that this phase in Poland was shortened to a minimum by the opening of the market to institutional clients in 2007. At present, the Polish market features approximately 400 entities selling energy. These are the companies that have received concessions for the sale of electricity. It is estimated that about 25% of them acquire customers commercially, expanding their sales base, offering products, and developing various marketing models. This is significant for the players in the energy market in Poland since it has been awaiting a full opening. The national experiences clearly indicate that elements and models of relationship marketing are worth applying. This is especially useful in developed market segments such as electrical energy for businesses, and will increase the importance of these models for consumers in the near future. The release of energy tariffs for consumers will reinforce the importance of such tools as relationship building, loyalty programs, and personalized offers.

Content available remote Evaluation of customer loyalty when buying bread
EN
In competitive conditions, behaviours in the market, especially making decisions on purchase, as well as loyalty, are essential features of consumers. Loyal customers are most valuable for a company. These problems were studied with the use of a questionnaire survey method on a group of 260 consumers. The surveys showed that customers, when buying bread, took into account, first of all, freshness of bread. The distance between a shop and the place of residence generally determines the choice of place of bread purchase. The respondents confirmed in their answers relatively high loyalty towards places of bread purchase, lower loyalty towards bread manufacturers, and the lowest loyalty towards particular products. Almost half of the respondents do not attach importance to brands of bread. From among the respondents declaring loyalty in this respect, the largest group of consumers prefers simultaneously several brands. Selection of factors determining preferences in relation to bread and place of its purchase, as well as loyalty, depend on consumers' gender and place of residence.

Respondenci w swych odpowiedziach potwierdzili stosunkowo wysoką lojalność do miejsc zakupu pieczywa, niższą do producentów chleba, a najniższą do konkretnych produktów.
