In the article, the author paid attention to the logistical infrastructure as extremely important and essential element of the correct functioning of the military budget unit. The state's security includes both political and military spheres and economic, ecological, social and ethnic issues. One of the basic factors which determines those processes is infrastructure. Adapting the military forces to the current needs and conditions by modernizing them and their effectiveness and also rationalization of the costs of living, determines a new shape for the infrastructure of military budgets. Its optimal aim is meeting the needs of military forces with the use of the military forces' potential and the resources and possibilities for the national economy.

Shunting yards, large maneuver, plant and shipyard yards constitute principal centres of logistical infrastructure. Gravitational marshalling systems are key points of this infrastructure. A high number of carriage accidents in such yards is due to, among other factors, wrong situation of certain components of the logistical infrastructure. Safe distance between space brakes and the first hump change of gradient is calculated in this paper.
