Contribution of logistics diagnosis to cost minimization: The case of a subsidiary of the automotive industry

This paper presents a diagnostic for the logistic activity of an industrial company in Tunisia. Our methodology is essentially based on the application of an Ishikawa diagram, the five Whys method, and the Logarithmic Mean Divisia Index for logistic costs. Our results show that the Coverage Rate of Logistics Costs is the determinant factor in the intensity of quarterly logistics costs, while the Economic Asset Turnover appears to be of secondary importance. The serious logistics costs are due to several problems currently detected. To reduce the growth of logistics costs, we must implement corrective actions, of three types: immediate operations, progressive operations, and projected operations. Thus, the improvement of the overall performance of the company must go with the reduction of logistics costs.

Transport stanowi jeden z podstawowych elementów w działalności logistycznej szpitali. Artykuł omawia zasady wykonywania i finansowania transportu sanitarnego wynikające z ustawy o świadczeniach opieki zdrowotnej finansowanych ze środków publicznych, zasady i warunki transportu w ramach ratownictwa medycznego, problemy transportu międzyszpitalnego oraz zagadnienia outsourcingu usług transportowych. Artykuł powstał w oparciu o krytyczną analizę literatury przedmiotu oraz analizę przepisów zawartych w aktach prawnych.

Transportation is one of the basic elements in the logistic activity of hospitals. The article discusses the rules of carrying out and funding sanitary transportation. These rules result from the healthcare delivery act about funding from the public resources, the rules and conditions of transportation within medical rescue system, the problems of transportation between hospitals and the issue of outsourcing transportation services. The article is based on the critical analysis of the subject literature and the analysis of regulations in legal acts.
