This study defined the heavy metal concentration in rice, a commonly consumed staple food in Indonesia that is domestically produced and also imported from other countries due to its high demand. A total of six rice samples, comprising of four domestic and two foreign were randomly taken from Semarang stores and analyzed using the Atomic Absorbance Spectrometer (AAS). The laboratory results revealed that three varieties of rice, two from Indonesia (MW and PW; 0.561 and 0.456 mg/kg, each), and one from the United States (B; 0.307 mg/kg), exceeded the Indonesian dietary standard for lead (Pb) (SNI). Furthermore, the concentration of chromium (Cr) in two rice that are imported (B, 0.241 mg/kg and J, 0.723 mg/kg) were greater than the 0.2 mg/kg threshold established by the Chinese government. However, all samples had acceptable levels of As and Hg, and none had detectable levels of Cd. In terms of pH levels, domestically produced rice had a wider range (3.88–5.78) compared to imported rice (4.96–5.68). Although locally grown and imported rice had acceptable levels of LCR, only one local rice sample and two imported rice samples exceeded the Target Hazard Quotient (THQ) as well as Hazard Index (HI) values. In conclusion, consuming heavy metals contamination rice on a regular basis poses carcinogenic as well as non-carcinogenic health risks.

Wiedeń to miasto słynące ze sztuki, dobrego transportu i uważnych praktyk rozrostu środowiska mieszkaniowego. W Wiedniu, zanim rozpocznie się budowa osiedla na obrzeżach miasta – na przyszłych mieszkańców czeka linia metra, a w budżetach nowych dzielnic przewidziane są fundusze na ośrodek kulturalny, którego obecność jest równie niezbędna jak urzędów pocztowych, sklepów spożywczych i placówek opiekuńczych. Miasto, aktywnie działające na rzecz zmniejszenia emisji CO2, stara się też o odświeżenie wizerunku w obszarze sztuki. Bo Wiedeń to nie tylko Klimt i Mozart, ale i sztuka współczesna w dziesiątkach artystycznych pracowni, art space‘ów i festiwali. Te ostatnie to wydarzenia często realizowane w swoistych post-przestrzeniach, miejscach, które utraciły swoją pierwotną funkcjonalność. Sztuka pełni w ich przypadku rolę aktywizującą i poprawiającą wizerunek danego obszaru miasta, często mając wpływ na otaczające środowisko mieszkaniowe. Autorzy poddają analizie wybrane przykłady festiwali sztuki realizowanych w przestrzeniach nieużywanych.

Vienna is a city famous for its art, great public transport and careful practices concerning growing housing environment. It is the capital of Austria that has been at the top of the quality of life rankings for years. In Vienna, before building new estates on the outskirts, a metro line is already waiting for its users (U2 - Seestadt, U1 – Oberlaa) and the budget for new district includes specific funds for a cultural center. The presence of which is as necessary as post offices, grocery stores and care facilities. The city, actively working to reduce CO2 emissions, is also trying to refresh its image in the field of art. Because Vienna is not only Klimt and Mozart, but most of all contemporary art presented in dozens of artistic studios, art spaces and festivals that also impact local housing environment. The authors analyze selected examples of art festivals created in abandoned spaces.

Glocalization is a holistic approach that balances global and local dimensions. As it affects organizations, glocal leadership has started to be discussed. The aim of this study is to reveal the perceptions of managers of private institutions about fulfilling glocal leadership behaviors, and investigate if there is a meaningful difference in terms of gender, age, seniority, and education level variables. This study is designed to be descriptive research using the Multidimensional Glocal Leadership Scale developed by Ercetin et. al (2011) to collect the data. The population of the research is a self-existing sample of 378 managers who work in private institutions. According to the findings, managers perceive they are fulfilling the glocal leadership behavior and its dimensions at middle level. There are some differences found for gender, age, seniority and education level variables.

Glokalizacja jest holistycznym podejściem, które równoważy wymiary globalne i lokalne. Ponieważ dotyka organizacji, zaczęto dyskutować o glokalnym przywództwie. Celem tego badania jest ujawnienie poglądów menedżerów prywatnych instytucji na temat glokalnych zachowań przywódczych i zbadanie, czy istnieje istotna różnica pod względem płci, wieku, stażu pracy i poziomu wykształcenia. Badanie to ma charakter opisowy i wykorzystuje Wielowymiarową Skalę Przywództwa Glokalnego opracowaną przez Ercetina (2011). Populacja badania jest samodzielną próbą 378 menedżerów pracujących w instytucjach prywatnych. Zgodnie z ustaleniami, menedżerowie dostrzegają, że realizują glokalne zachowanie przywódcze i jego wymiary na poziomie średnim. Istnieją pewne różnice dotyczące zmiennych pod względem płci, wieku, stażu pracy i poziomu wykształcenia.

The aim of this article is to determine the size of the effect on the development of Polish metropolises and large cities imposed by the decision on conditions for construction and land management as well as local spatial management plans. This aim was achieved by:– verification of spatial policy pursued by the largest Polish cities– description of conditions which authorities of Polish cities take into consideration while conducting a particular spatial policy.The article mainly analyses the ways of pursuing spatial policy at a city level, which primarily comes down to the analysis of urban plans records and shape of decision on conditions for construction and land management as well as opinions of the representatives of the municipalities. As a result of on-going research a hypothesis have been placed: the decision on conditions for construction and land management negatively influences the city’s spatial order.

Porównano częstotliwość widmową i chwilową. Wskazano na błędy, do których prowadziło nierozróżnienie pomiędzy tymi kategoriami częstotliwości. Podano podstawowe związki pomiędzy charakterystykami tych częstotliwości. Zwrócono uwagę, że istnieją sygnały, dla których jest możliwe lokalne utożsamienie częstotliwości chwilowej i widmowej. Uzupełniono objaśnienie mechanizmu dyskryminacji częstotliwości.

The spectral and instantaneous frequencies are compared. Some misinterpretations resulting from confusing these frequency categories are described. Important relations between some characteristics of the two frequencies are given. The local and global features of the instantaneous frequency are considered.
