Solutions concerning large casting lines and moulding sand processing stations are emphasized. Devices of Savelli warrant good quality of casting production and find buyers not only in Europe but also in America and Asia.

Autorzy artykułu przedstawili historię powstania pierwszego na świecie urządzenia do automatycznego wkładania filtrów odlewniczych na linii formierskiej z pionowym podziałem formy. To trudne do zrealizowania zadanie zostało wykonane dzięki współpracy FOSECO ze specjalistą z branży automatyzacji procesów produkcyjnych firmą ROBOTEC. Aby skutecznie osiągnąć cel należy korzystać z istniejących gotowych rozwiązań. Zmiany na rynku odlewniczym które mają miejsce w krajach Europy Zachodniej już wkrótce będą dotyczyły również Polski. Termin "kraj o niskich kosztach robocizny" już wkrótce nie będzie utożsamiany z Polską, będzie ona bowiem również ograniczać koszty, stosując nowe technologie.

The authors of the article have presented the history of creation of the worldfirst device for automatic inserting the foundry filters into the moulds with vertical partition, placed on the moulding line. This task is difficult to be realized; but it was realized thanks to the collaboration between FOSECO and the firm ROBOTEC which specializes itself in the automation of production processes. To effectively reach the aim it is necessary to use the existing solutions. Changes on the foundry market appearing in the westeuropean countries will also soon concern Poland. The term "country of low labor costs" soon already will not be identified with Poland, which also will reduce costs through the application of new technologies.

Assessment of systems for mechanisation of casting production

Using data on the world production of castings, the situation of foundry industry in Poland was evaluated with emphasis put on the productivity of domestic foundries. It has been observed that an increase of productivity requires a wide-scale mechanisation of the equipment used for casting production on modern foundry moulding lines. Modernisation of foundries is expected to help in creation of optimum conditions for casting production, satisfying all the requirements regarding quantity and quality of castings produced. Modern designs of moulding lines were described, including moulding machines and the related equipment.

Analiza wad wewnętrznych tulei żeliwnych odlewanych na automatycznych liniach formierskich

W artykule przedstawiono metodykę oraz wyniki badań wad wewnętrznych występujących okresowo w badanych żeliwnych odlewach tulei. Odlewy są wykonywane z żeliwa szarego EN-GJL-250 na automatycznej linii formowania pod wysokimi naciskami w skrzynkach formierskich. Badania prowadzone metodami mikroskopii optycznej i elektronowej. Wykonano mikroanalizę punktową i powierzchniową na mikroskopie skaningowym Joel JSM 5400. Zidentyfikowano wady jako nakłucia - pęcherze przypowierzchniowe. Dokonano analizy powstawania tych wad oraz przedstawiono sposoby zapobiegania ich powstawaniu.

The paper presents the methodics and the results of examining the internal defects occurring periodically in cast iron sleeves. The castings are made of EN-GLJ-250 grey cast iron at the automatic molding line for molding in flasks under high pressures. Examination has been done by means of optical and scanning electron microscopy. Local and surface microanalyses have been done using Joel JSM 540 scanning electron microscope. The defects has been identified as pinholes - blowholes. The way of formation of these defects has been analysed as well as the methods of avoiding them.
