Described works are a part of the project being aimed at drawing the structure up electromagnetic planar drive (XY) of direct action. The first phase of our works included drawing the model of the simulation drive up and building model for experimental examinations. In it a linear movement of runner was being analysed, consists of stator -being a base of the structure which active elements of activator (coils) are attached to and runner - in the model has a possibility of the move after the linear guide. In the runner there are installed passive elements of activator - set of pairs of magnets. There was next built the test stand for experiments on linear drive as well as simulation model in Femag software. Static distribution of the B field is realized with use FEM method. A number of experiments give possibility of optimization of structure of planar drive and selection of the parameters of driver, especially for mode of microsteps. Simulation model of the actuator is in accordance with the experimental model.
