Oświetlenie w technologii LED staje się coraz popularniejsze. Jednym z najczęściej wykorzystywanych jego typów są paski lub moduły zawierające diody LED, czyli elementy liniowe. Stwarzają one nowe możliwości kreowania oświetlenia wewnętrznego oraz umożliwiają różne sposoby jego implikacji. Artykuł dotyczy problematyki zastosowania oświetlenia liniowego w technologii LED we wnętrzach rezydencjonalnych. Przybliża problemy kompozycji tworzonych za pomocą oświetlenia liniowego zarówno w płaszczyznach pionowych, jak i poziomych. Zwraca także uwagę na rosnącą popularność tego typu rozwiązań. Porusza ponadto problem temperatury barwowej oświetlenia, a także jej oddziaływania na człowieka.

Lighting in LED technology is becoming more and more popular. One of the most frequently used types are strips or modules containing LEDs, i.e. linear elements. They create new possibilities of creating internal lighting and enable various ways of its implications. The article concerns the issues of using linear lighting in LED technology in residential interiors. It deals with the problems of compositions created with the use of linear lighting in both vertical and horizontal planes. It also draws attention to the growing popularity of this type of solutions. It also touches upon the problem of the color temperature of lighting and its impact on humans.

Light Effect in Semiconductor Bridge Plasma Ignition

Heat is considered to play an important role in Semiconductor Bridge (SCB) plasma ignition. Nevertheless, in this paper a non-heat effect is reported for SCB ignition of primary explosives. An initial comparison showed that there is no reasonable correlation between the ease of plasma ignition and the 5-s explosion temperature. Meanwhile the addition of Pb3O4 was found to make lead styphnate (LS) more active to SCB plasma ignition whereas the heat decomposition of this mixture was not accelerated. In terms of the phenomena mentioned above and the response of primary explosives to SCB plasma, we propose an effect of light in SCB plasma ignition. The free radical concentration change indicates that light enhances the activity of primary explosives in SCB plasma ignition. Regarding the mixture of LS and Pb3O4, the additive itself does not make LS sensitive to the SCB plasma. However, the supplement makes LS active under light exposure. As a result, the effect of light on SCB plasma ignition was confirmed by the experiments conducted in this study. This paper provides a new understanding of SCB plasma ignition from the viewpoint of explosives, which is of importance for the design of SCBs.

Brak jednoznacznie skrystalizowanego głównego nurtu powoduje, iż powstające dzieła oscylują od chłodnego racjonalizmu high-tech po burzliwą ekstrawagancję dekonstruktywizmu. Pracownie architektoniczne wypełnione są komputerami, których wpływ na projektowanie nie tylko jest bardzo wyraźny, ale wręcz wydaje się, że coraz częściej proces twórczy bywa zdominowany przez to narzędzie. Świadomi tego programiści prześcigają się w pomysłach mających dodatkowo usprawnić pracę projektantów. Na tym tle nowojorski architekt Steven Holl zaskakuje swoją konsekwencją w podążaniu drogą indywidualnych wyborów, a także nieco nostalgicznym warsztatem twórczym. Jego dzieła słyną z niezwykłych efektów świetlnych, dzięki którym wnętrza ożywają całą gamą wielobarwnych refleksów, uzyskując mistyczny, malarski nastrój.

The architecture of the beginning of the XXI century is characterized by a great variety of creative approaches. No clearly crystallized mainstream causes that produced the works oscillate between rational, high-tech extravaganza after stormy deconstructionism. Architectural studios are filled with computers, whose influence on the design is not only very clear, but actually it seems that more and more creative process is sometimes dominated by this tool. Conscious of this, developers are full of ideas aimed to further enhance the work of designers. Against this background, the New York architect Steven Holl has a surprising consequence of the pathways to individual choices, and somewhat nostalgic creative workshop. His works are known for their unusual light effects, by which the interior to life a variety of multi-colored reflections, yielding a mystical, painting mood.
