The article presents legislative procedures concerning the renewable energy sources sector. Preparation and adoption of the act on renewable energy sources lasted 5 years, which had a negative impact on investment processes in this area. Legislative regulations have been changed many times, an example of which is the so-called the distance law, that is the Act on Wind Farm Investment. The author points out that the introduction of sudden legislative changes that unexpectedly worsen the legal and economic situation of investors, violating the stability and transparency of the legal system, may be the basis for awarding multi-million-dollar compensations.

The market of the carriage of persons in Poland has experienced a number of legislative changes in the past few years. They were designed to organize the functioning of this industry and to ensure fair competition. Meanwhile,inept legal moves revealed a wealth of ideas and creativity of entrepreneurs. The article presents some aspects related to this type of activity.

The paper discusses the influence of the main vessel operational parameters on fuel consumption. These parameters are the speed trough the water, mean draft and trim. The focus is set to the flow phenomena around certain elements of hull geometry as they are sensitive on the selection of discussed parameters. Therefore, the understanding of the flow properties and their impact on ship resistance thus the fuel consumption and emission is crucial taking into account legislative changes imposed by IMO with respect to carbon dioxide emissions from ships.

Zagadnienie termomodernizacji budynków w Polsce przybiera na znaczeniu, przy czym jest to wynik zmian legislacyjnych (wymagań stawianych nowo wznoszonym budynkom), jak i proekologicznej tendencji w społeczeństwie, aczkolwiek podłoże tych zachowań raczej tkwi w oszczędnościach ekonomicznych. W artykule zaprezentowano korzyści ekologiczne wynikające z wymiany starych źródeł ciepła na nowe, z wykorzystaniem techniki środowiskowej - oceny cyklu życia.

Thermo-modernization problem in Poland is gaining importance. It results from the legislative changes (new requirements for the newly buildings being built) and pro-ecological trends in the society. However, the ground of these behaviours lies rather in the economic savings. The article presents the emdronmental benefits resulting from the exchange of old heat sources for new ones by using techniques of environmental - life cycle assessment.
