Purpose: The aim of the paper is to identify learning orientation of micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in technology parks (TPs) in Poland, and their performance which they gain in the context of the dynamism of the markets operated by them. Design/methodology/approach: This empirical study focuses on the quantitative analysis of data collected from MSMEs operating in technology parks in Poland. The study sample was composed of 182 enterprises. The two methods used for performing quantitative empirical research are: CAWI and PAPI. The conceptual framework for this research was a theory of dynamic capabilities. Findings: This study’s findings show that learning orientation is undoubtedly surveyed a MSMEs characteristic. This suggests that learning orientation is a universal phenomenon as it has features of different sizes of enterprises. Secondly, it was empirically proven that the way MSMEs were functioning in the market was neither radical nor conservative. These enterprises were rational to seek out and replace obsolete mental models. At the same time, most of them were operating in stable or moderately dynamic markets rather than in turbulent and uncertain environments. The other ones were operating in environments with slightly higher or lower volatility and uncertainty. Lastly, it was shown that the firm performance level is related to the number of employees. These findings are an argument for treating the number of employees as a non-financial measure of organisation’s development. Research implications: Replications and extensions of the current study should be directed to investigate the indirect effect of learning orientation on firm performance via moderating variable (i.e. market dynamism). At the same time, the size of enterprises may be taken into account as a control variable, for example, in the analysis of the relationship between learning orientation and firm performance. Originality/value: The research shows that LO is not a dichotomous resource.

In recent years, several universities have implemented the accomplishments of the industrial revolution (4.0) in education. This demonstrates the importance of talent retention in the workplace, and brilliant individuals are seen as one of competitive advantage. Managers should have suitable talent management plans because talented individuals are scarce, valuable, and hard to substitute. Through the characteristics that leadership styles will affect, such as reward and recognition, learning orientation, and organizational justice, it will provide the organization with a perspective on the members' feelings about the factors affecting the intention to work long-term at higher education institutions. As a result, the authors propose exploring the talent retention model through leadership styles, which will impact the aspects that employees in an organization feel would be interesting and relevant to them. The authors to guide this study will conduct two phases: qualitative research and quantitative research. To investigate the fundamental factors of leadership style behavior, relating to the talent retention strategy of university leaders in Vietnam, qualitative research will be conducted on 8 universities in three regions. North, Central, and South of Vietnam by semi-structured interview method after interview questions with 8 leaders representing higher education institutions. Quantitative research will be conducted by gathering data from lecturers, researchers from organizations in order to test hypotheses based on the findings of qualitative research.

As a major challenge of a social, economic, and institutional nature, the phenomenon of population ageing is the basis for concern in terms of the direction of further socioeconomic development. By the year 2050, the number of older people around the world will amount to more than 2 billion, constituting 22% of the total population. Over 75, people are faced with increased risk of disability (physical and mental), which can deprive of independent existence. The welfare system will not only have to meet the growing demand for nursing homes, but also the increasing requirements for the safety and quality of services. The innovation of nursing homes will be conditional on the learning of the units of this sector. The scientific goal of the pursued study was to evaluate the influence of learning orientation on the innovation of nursing homes in Poland. Learning orientation has been the subject of the Author’s interest in the context of four constructs: (i) commitment to learning, (ii) shared vision, (iii) open-mindedness, and (iv) intra-organisational knowledge sharing. The article presents the results of a quantitative research conducted on a sample of 169 nursing homes in Poland. The study aimed to examine relationships between the four constructs of learning orientation and organisational innovativeness of nursing homes in Poland. The regression model confirmed the existing statistically significant positive relationship between open-mindedness and organisational innovativeness.
