Przeanalizowano zachowanie się belki ze względu na możliwość wystąpienia zjawiska zwichrzenia w zakresie sprężystym oraz pozasprężystym. Określono dokładne i uproszczone zależności opisujące graniczne odległości pomiędzy punktami podparcia bocznego, przy których może nastąpić zmiana sposobu zniszczenia belki.

One of the main factors, which influences the phenomenon of lateral buckling, is the distance between points of side support. With the small length of the support, it is possible for beam to achieve the full plasticity moment and with the large distance, the elastic lateral-torsional buckling will decide its destruction. With the intermediate lenght it is impossible for beam to achieve the full-plasticity moment and then lateral-torsional buckling is nonelastic. The behaviour of beam, for the sake of the possible occurrence of the phenomenon of both elastic and nonelastic lateral buckling, has been analysed in the paper.
