Inż. i Ap. Chem. 2005, 44, no 4s, p. 70 Cultures of hairy roots of Arnica montana were cultivated in a mist bioreactor for different medium: B5, 1B5, 1B5 - mod.l and 1B5 - mod.2. Fresh and dry biomass were estimated after 28 days. The content of polyphenols in biomass was measured. The best results, i.e. the highest content of polyphenols were obtained for 1B5.
Hairy roots cultures of Paulownia tomentosa produce verbascoside. The effect of elicitors on verbascoside production in hairy roots P.tomentosa was tested. The following elicitors: yeast extract, methyl jasmonate and salicylic acid were used. The best productivity was obtained in cultures with yeast extract (98,7 mg/g s.m.) and methyl jasmonate (96,4 mg/g s.m).
Transformed root cultures of Arnica montana were cultivated in shaking flasks of 300 cm3 containing 80 cm3 hormone-free B5 medium with 5% of sucrose. Fresh and dry biomass changes, uptake of main nutrients and conductivity were investigated during the process.
