Controlling Effectiveness Model - empirical research results regarding the influence of controlling on organisational performance

The article aims to explain how controlling influences an organisation as a whole, considering the job performance of employees and managers. It describes the development and verification of the Controlling Effectiveness Model, which characterises the impact, the place of each variable and the direction of each relationship in the effort to shape organisational performance. The hypothesis was verified with the help of empirical research, which was conducted with 264 organisations operating in Poland. The survey took place in October 2019. The authors of the article used the CAWI method. Efforts had been made to ensure a diversified research sample encompassing various organisational characteristics. The exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis and the sequentially mediated regression model were used to verify the hypothesis. The empirical research allowed confirming a statistically significant indirect impact of the quality of controlling on organisational performance. This relationship depends on the job performance of managers and employees. The analysis of the impact made by controlling on the job performance of employees and managers as we as the organisational performance resulted in a mediation model (the Controlling Effectiveness Model) and confirmed the effect of controlling on organisational performance through the impact on job performance of managers and employees. The article has practical implications. The organisations that decide to implement controlling should focus on the quality of this management support method. It is not enough to simply implement controlling as organisations need to ensure the correct implementation. In this context, it is also relevant to properly shape functional, organisational and instrumental controlling solutions (tailored to the characteristics of the organisation as a whole, as well as to the environmental conditions, under which the organisation operates), which determine the quality of controlling.

Jedną z ról, jakie odgrywają kierownicy-osoby dozoru w swojej pracy zawodowej na różnych szczeblach zarządzania, jest rola informacyjna. Polega ona między innymi na zbieraniu i rozpowszechnianiu informacji, które są jednym ze źródeł władzy i podstawowym elementem planowania, organizowania, motywowania i kontrolowania. W artykule Autorki zaprezentowały - poprzez analizę literaturową i badania własne - miejsce i znaczenie osób dozoru-kierowników w systemie przepływu informacji w zarządzaniu.

One of the roles performed by executives and supervisory personnel in their work at various levels of management is the information role. It involves, inter alia, the collection and dissemination of information, which is one of the sources of authority and an essential element of planning, organizing, motivating and controlling. In this paper the authors presented - through the analysis of literature and their own research - the place and importance of supervisory staff and managers in the system of information flow in management.

The development of theories and control technologies on mining subsidence damage is summarized in the article. By analyzing laws and particularities of mining subsidence damage about Shaanbei - Jurassic Coalfield, the article advances that we can apply geology, mine, landform and regional environment and so on to synthetically partition and ascertain control technologies and comprehensive improvement modes about mining damage, then gives the modes of divisional control and improvement on mining subsidence damage. All of these provide a base of theory and technology for large area mining and zoology environment protection.

Niniejszy artykuł jest streszczeniem rozwoju teorii oraz technologii kontroli szkód związanych z osiadaniem wyrobisk górniczych. Poprzez analizę zasad oraz szczegółów dotyczących tego typu zagrożeń w przypadku zagłębia węglowego Shaanbei-Jurassic, artykuł przedstawia teorię, według której można wykorzystać środowisko geologiczne, kopalniane, formacji terenu oraz środowisko regionu, w celu ustalenia oraz syntetycznego podzielenia technologii kontroli i kompleksowych trybów zapobiegania szkodom górniczym. Następnie przedstawione są tryby podziału kontroli oraz zapobiegania uszkodzeniom związanym z osiadaniem wyrobisk górniczych. Wszystko to daje podstawy teoretyczne oraz technologiczne do zabezpieczeń dużych obszarów górniczych oraz środowiska.
