Niniejszy artykuł został poświęcony kształtowaniu miejskich pieszych przestrzeni publicznych w nowych rewitalizowanych strukturach miejskich miast europejskich początkiem XXI wieku na przykładzie nowego rewitalizowanego centrum Bjørvika Barcode w Oslo. Powstają nowe przestrzenie publiczne kreujące nowy kontekst przestrzenny. Artykuł dotyczy także niektórych aspektów kreacji przestrzeni szczególnie z pozycji pieszych użytkowników „parteru” tych przestrzeni oraz ich percepcji związanej m. in. z kompozycją i estetyką architektury oraz stosunku do otoczenia i natury. Kreacja wnętrz miejskich przestrzeni posiada znaczący wpływ na kształtowanie otaczającej synergicznej architektury i synergicznych pieszych miejskich przestrzeni publicznych, a także tworzy nową tożsamość przestrzenną miejsca i architektury.

This paper is devoted to the process of shaping of urban pedestrian public spaces in new revitalised urban structures of European cities in the early 21st century upon the example of a new revitalised centre of Bjørvika Barcode in Oslo. New public spaces emerge, creating a new spatial context. The paper also focuses on some aspects of the creation of space, particularly from the perspective of pedestrian users of the ‘ground floor’ of these spaces and the perception thereof connected with – without limitations – composition and aesthetics of architecture, and its relation towards the surrounding area and nature. Creation of urban spaces has a significant effect on the process of shaping of the surrounding synergic architecture and synergic urban pedestrian public spaces, as well as creates a new spatial identity of the place and its architecture.

Artykuł dotyczy zagadnień związanych z rekreacją, występującą w przestrzeniach architektonicznych jednorodzinnych domów zlokalizowanych w krajobrazie w terenach poza miastem. Funkcja wypoczynku odgrywa w przestrzeni domu wolno stojącego bardzo ważną rolę, ponieważ związana jest na co dzień z życiem rodziny. Artykuł prezentuje trzynaście nagrodzonych projektów architektoniczno-urbanistycznych studentów drugiego roku wykonanych w roku akademickim 2015/2016 w Katedrze Kształtowania Środowiska Mieszkaniowego Wydziału Architektury Politechniki Krakowskiej. Pokazują, zdaniem autora, tęsknotę do zamieszkania w naturalnym środowisku, w otoczeniu łąk, lasów, jezior, gór, mórz etc. w odosobnieniu, ciszy i spokoju. Dążenia i marzenia mieszkańców do bycia na co dzień z naturą znajdują swoje odbicie w projektowaniu oraz realizacji miejsc zamieszkania w środowisku mieszkaniowym wzajemnie ściśle powiązanym ze środowiskiem przyrodniczym.

The paper discusses the issues tied with recreation in the architectural spaces of single-family detached houses located within the landscape outside of cities. Recreation plays a very important role in the space of a single-family detached house, as it is tied with the everyday life of a family. The paper presents thirteen award-winning architectural and urban designs developed by second year students during the 2015/2016 academic year, developed at the Chair of the Housing Environment of the Faculty of Architecture of the Cracow University of Technology. According to the author’s opinion, they illustrate the yearning for a life in a natural environment, surrounded by meadows, forests, lakes, mountains and seas, in isolation, peace and quiet. The efforts and dreams of inhabitants who want to be surrounded by nature every day have been reflected in the design and construction of residential areas in a housing environment that is strictly and mutually tied with the natural environment.

Artykuł dotyczy zagadnień związanych z kształtowaniem miejskich przestrzeni rekreacyjnych małych zespołów mieszkaniowych. Rekreację nal eży zaliczyć do ważniejszych funkcji obok mieszkania siedlisk ludzkich, ponieważ w znaczący sposób wpływa na utrzymanie optymalnej kondycji fizycznej i psychicznej człowieka oraz jego zdrowia. Artykuł prezentuje trzynaście nagrodzonych projektów architektoniczno-urbanistycznych studentów drugiego roku wykonanych w roku akademickim 2015/2016 w Katedrze Kształtowania Środowiska Mieszkaniowego Wydziału Architektury Politechniki Krakowskiej. Pokazują one zdaniem autora różnorodność poszukiwań i eksperymentów w kształtowaniu funkcjonalno- przestrzennym zdrowego środowiska mieszkaniowego. Cechą oryginalnych kreacji i wizji jest dążenie do uzyskania wzajemnych powiązań funkcjonalnych i przestrzennych mieszkania, domu oraz zespołu mieszkaniowego ze środowiskiem przyrodniczym stwarzającym optymalne warunki do rekreacji.

The paper discusses the problems tied to the shaping of urban recreational spaces of small residential complexes. Recreation needs to be acknowledged as belonging to a set of important functions of human settlements, apart from that of providing housing, as it considerably influences the maintaining of the optimal physical and mental condition of man, as well as his health. The paper is a presentation of thirteen award winning architectural and urban designs that were developed by students within the academic year 2015/2016 at the Chair of the Housing Environment of the Faculty of Architecture at the Cracow University of Technology. In the opinion of the author, they illustrate the diversity of pursuits and experiments in the shaping of a healthy housing environment in terms of function and space. One quality of these original creations and visions is the pursuit of achieving the mutual interconnectedness of the functional and spatial relationships of apartments, homes and housing complexes with the natural environment that creates optimal conditions for recreation.

Z okazji uhonorowania cenionego poznańskiego architekta Klemensa Mikuły Nagrodą Honorową Oddziału Poznańskiego Stowarzyszenia Architektów Polskich za rok 2009, przyznaną za całokształt twórczości i wybitne osiągnięcia w dziedzinie architektury, Koło Naukowe Historii Architektury i Urbanistyki zorganizowało wystawę poświęconą jego dorobkowi twórczemu. Skierowała ona uwagę autorek na ważny aspekt jego twórczości, jakim jest zagospodarowanie terenów rekreacyjnych wokół Jeziora Maltańskiego, jednego z elementów rozwiniętego w Poznaniu klinowo-obwodowego systemu zieleni, a przy tym na znakomitą umiejętność wpisania projektowanych form w kontekst przestrzenny i społeczny, co uważane jest za specyfikę poznańskiego środowiska twórczego. Zaprojektowane przez Mikułę założenie ma oryginalny program funkcjonalny, nadało nową jakość zastanej przestrzeni, stanowi symbol i element tożsamości miasta. Zabrane przez członków KNHAiU materiały archiwalne, otrzymane bezpośrednio od projektanta, stały się nie tylko podstawą wystawy, ale i dalszych badań oraz pracy naukowej.

The Academic Circle of History and Urban Planning at the Faculty of Architecture of Poznań University of Technology began to function In 2004. From the very beginning its aim is to document the output of local architects and to cooperate with them, which allows us to learn more about historical conditions of the profession. On the occasion of honouring Klemens Mikuła with Honour Prize of Polish Architects Society in Poznań for the year 2009, the Circle organized an exhibition devoted to his achievements. It turned our attention towards a crucial element of Mikuła's work - the development of the recreation areas around Lake Maltańskie, which is the part of Poznań's spheno-peripheral system of green.

The paper describes urban competition which took place in the town of Zbąszyń. It was the student contest, announced by city municipals and Faculty of Architecture of Poznan University of Technology. The spatial context of city and urban planning is described, as well as results of the competition. Process of developing ideas is shown as part of sustainable development in terms of participation of local community in urban design.

In this article I would like to focus on the issue of the influence of Le Corbusier on the architecture of the buildings constructed after the war with respect to their form, expression or location of such architecture in the historic spatial context. As much as the Polish avant-garde architecture of the interwar era derived from the published works and statements of Le Corbusier, as much the tendency weakened after 1948 giving way to the government imposed socialist realism style. Breakthrough of the year of 1956 became the turning point in the search for the references to and drawing from the output of the master. This kind of permission makes up the grounds for the search I've mentioned at the beginning. To follow the patterns is not to be an anonymous act of copying, but rather an act of creating new forms which have their own position in modern architecture.

They make a natural testing ground for new architectural ideas that can be later developed in designs of a larger scale and increased complexity.

Artykuł obejmuje rozważania nad tożsamością miasta w ujęciu tradycyjnym oraz współczesnym. Wyszczególniono kilka podstawowych wariantów wpisania budynków współczesnych w istniejący kontekst przestrzenny oraz przeanalizowano wybrane przykłady architektury współczesnej wpływające na zmianę wizerunku miasta. Wiele obiektów powstałych w ostatnich latach, mimo że nie nawiązują do tradycji lokalnych, staje się symbolami miejsca, unikatowymi na skalę światową. „Ekstremalne" budynki przyczyniają się do powstawania pojęcia nowej tożsamości miasta, która spełnia obecne oczekiwania mieszkańców oraz turystów.

This article comprises dissertations on the identity of a city from traditional and contemporary perspective. The identity of a city consists of elements which are unique, characteristic, tradition-related and invariable in their spatial structure. It is assumed that it possible to identify with the city mainly thanks to historic quarter buildings, which have been the heart of the city for centuries. Many contemporary architectural and urban activities go in a completely different direction than traditionally understood building of the identity of the city space. More and more often modern architecture buildings, mainly those extreme and exceptional ones, give the citizens an opportunity to identify with a district, a city or a region. The notion of identity evolves with the change of social and cultural needs, and with technical and technological development. Modern buildings (mostly) constituting a form in itself separated from local traditions, become a part of a global identity trend. Most modern buildings both suit and not suit any place. This article presents a few basic variants of suiting modern buildings into an existing spatial context and analyses some examples of modern architecture which influence the change of a city image. Many recently erected buildings, although not referring to the local traditions, become world unique symbols of a city. It can be concluded that there is a 'modern identity' of places connected with new urban-architectural creations. One can notice a tendency that original buildings, from the group of the representative ones, are commissioned and built in different cities sometimes even in the areas of historical value, which is meant to increase the rank of these spaces. It is reflected in the greatest architects building in different places all around the world. In Poland the sign of this trend is the realization of Norman Foster's Biurowiec Metropolitan in Warsaw from 2003, the building of Złota 44 office block by Daniel Libeskind in Warsaw, and the project Korona Tower created for Poznań also by Libeskind. Together with the change of trends, the need for planning areas for new buildings in the existing city spaces seems to be justified. Excellent European examples are La Defense district in Paris and AZCA in Madrid linked with the historic centre of these cities but not interfering directly in their spatial shape.

Aleje Niepodległości in Poznań are a unique urban group. It includes a review of many architectonic styles of the last century and related with them artistic and ideological programs. Four buildings from different artistic and political epochs, situated in Dzielnica Cesarska - the culmination of the group, show the methods of forming relations between the architectonic work and its context.
