Powłoki stalowe wykonywane z elementów blach falistych współpracujące z otaczającym je gruntem są coraz częściej wykorzystywane do budowy obiektów mostowych na ważnych drogach i liniach kolejowych. W wielu przypadkach dochodzi jednak do popełniania przez projektantów i wykonawców tych obiektów błędów przy ich projektowaniu i budowie. Przedstawiono najczęstsze błędy projektowe i wykonawcze obniżające, niekiedy w dość istotny sposób, trwałość tych obiektów. Podano wymagania normowe i technologiczne oraz sposoby montażu tego rodzaju konstrukcji.

The steel shells made of corrugated plate elements cooperating with the surrounding soil are increasingly being used for construction of bridges on major roads and railway lines. In many cases the designers and contractors commit faults in design and construction of these structures. The paper presents the most common design and construction faults which lead to lower durability of these structures. The standards and technical requirements as well as the assembly methods of this structure type are also given.

The paper presents the description of soil-soil structures as well as the introduction to solving the problem of durability of this type of structure. Durability of such structures should be understood as the service life strength of the soil-steel system with respect of resistance on the external factors, e.g. chemical and electrochemical corrosion, abrasion. In order to evaluate the durability of soil-steel objects made from flexible steel structures, Miner’s method, usually used to traditional steel bridges is proposed.
