Masterplany wracają do łask. Starszemu pokoleniu projektantów mogą one kojarzyć się z budową dużych osiedli mieszkaniowych i projektami architektonicznymi w dużej skali. Obecnie opracowania te mają więcej wspólnego z zarządzaniem zmianą dużych fragmentów terenu niż sytuowaniem budynków w przestrzeni.

The paper contains: — a theoretical discussion on the differences between the notions 'revitalization' and 'renovation' on the basis of the available literature; — a diagnosis of the current condition of the area intended for renovatłon in the first phase taking into account the existing ownership structure in the buildings and their technical condition; — a detailed spatial development concept including the frontages of buildings along Bogusława St. and Jagiellońska St., and the inside of quarter 21 along these streets; — the economic aspects of renovation of the area taking into account the planned scope of works and financing, sources of financing and detailed costs of phase one with respect to every owner. In the final part of the paper, apart from conclusions, the author describes the actions taken by the Szczecin Renovation Center (SCR) as part of the investment planned and points to new directions in connection with the abovementioned renovation.
