Thermovision cameras were started to be used in the early 60s of the lat century. Thermovision is most frequently used where high-temperature technological processes occur and the value of temperature plays an important role for the correctness of process run and affects the quality of products manufactured. This includes the metallurgical, chemical, refining and petrochemical industries, industrial and municipal power engineering, and municipal heat management. Based on the obtained data for temperature distribution on the outer surface of heated steel charge, an analysis of the heating process is carried out and technological errors resulting from the design of chambers used in the heating process are evaluated in the present work. Making use of thermovision measurements, it is also possible to assess the correctness of operation of electrical power transmission equipment, identify the causes of overheating, and perform the analysis of the overall technical condition of this equipment. The article also presents possibilities for a precise analysis of recorded thermograms using the ThermaCam Reporter software supplied with the ThermaCam P65 thermovision camera.
