This paper presents wavelet-based method for perception improvement of masses and microcalcifications in digital mammogramns. The coefficients distribution of multiresolution transform was shaped nonlinearly in selected scales and subbands, resulting in an improved visualization of significant mammographic features. Subjective rating of processed mammograms proved the efficacy of the method under discussion. Experienced radiologist confirmed usefuIness of proposed mammogram processing method for clinical practice.
